Pray this Lazaroo in wholehearted commitment:

“…we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed. Now we who have believed enter that rest, just as God has said, ‘So I declared on oath in my anger, “They shall never enter my rest.”’”
(Hebrews 4:2-3)

Hearing Your Word is no good to me, Jesus

if I don’t believe it.

But I do! Thank God, I do!

Pray this Lazaroo with sold-out surrender:

“…if he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others…”
(2 Peter 2:5)

Those seven others, Jesus!

His wife.
His three sons.
His sons’ three wives.

A countless number of people drowned in the flood.

You saved only them.

They were the only ones
who repented at Noah’s preaching.

It’s not how many reject You, is it?

Those who’ll survive
are those who believe.

Pray this Lazaroo in steadfast faith:

“Jesus said, ‘You believe because I told you I saw you under the fig tree. You will see greater things than that.’ He then added, ‘Very truly I tell you, you will see “heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on” the Son of Man.’”
(John 1:50-51)

We always set our sights too low, Jesus!

Partly, that’s because of our lack of belief.

But the other reason is because we can’t begin to imagine

the unlimited possibilities that exist in You!

Pray this Lazaroo in pure trust:

“The Ninevites believed God.”
(Jonah 3:5)

Every time I take You at Your Word, Jesus…

every time I decide to act on it
every time I follow through with 100% obedience

good things happen!

Well…they don’t just “happen.”

YOU make them happen!

In this case, You sent Jonah to tell the Ninevites that You were going to destroy their city because of their many sins.

When they believed You and repented, however,
You spared them.

O God!
Spare me!

Pray this Lazaroo in deepest personal gratitude:

“Come and see…”
(John 1:46)

I would have thought that’s all people needed to do, Jesus.

Phillip told Nathanael to come and see You and he believed.
Many others did the same.

But it’s stunning to realize how many of the Jewish leaders who saw You did not believe.

They already had their minds made up.
They scoffed at your words and ignored your miracles.

It’s the same way today.

Nobody can come to You unless Your Father enables them.

Pray this Lazaroo with unshakable belief:

“Philip, like Andrew and Peter, was from the town of Bethsaida.”
(John 1:44)

The Jewish people living there witnessed Your amazing miracles, Jesus

but many refused to believe –
even though three of Your disciples were from there!

You told them if the pagans living in Tyre and Sidon had seen those same miracles

they would have repented and believed.

You don’t need to do anything more than You already have, Father

for me – with all my heart – to believe.

Pray this Lazaroo in stubborn faith:

“Teach the older men to be…sound…in endurance.”
(Titus 2:2)

By the time these men reach their advanced years, Jesus

You expect them to exhibit this amazing trait of endurance.

Of course, in many cases, that has to be taught

because none of likes what it means:

hardship, disappointment
waiting, waiting, waiting.

The only way to teach it or learn it

is to believe or discover
that when You promise it

in Your perfect way and time
You come through.

Pray this Lazaroo in renewed determination:

“At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea…”
(Luke 1:39)

Your mom had reason to hurry, didn’t she, Jesus?

An angel just told her she was going to give birth to You
and she was a virgin.

She had to tell somebody –

somebody who would believe her
somebody who would help her sort all this through.

Do I have anyone like that to go to?

Am I that person for anyone?
