That’s a tall order, Jesus.

So many human authorities are corrupt.
Even more are completely in the wrong.

But You’ve commanded me to do it for Your sake.

I will.
For that reason only.

But this I know:

If human authorities require me to disobey You
You will be the first to tell me to disobey them

no matter what it costs
because I belong to You.

That’s all I need to know, Jesus.

When somebody targets me, I’m not alone.
You know the ins and outs of their insidious plans.

I’m not the best of Your people.

Not by a long shot.

But I belong to You – with every fiber of my being.

That means You take their actions against me Personally.

I like my chances.

Your Word is that foundation, Jesus

not because it’s in writing

But what means the world to me is knowing I belong to You!

You chose me.
You saved me.
I’m Yours.

but through all eternity!
