Fully open your heart, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“Jehoshaphat said, ‘The word of the Lord is with him.’ So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him.”
(2 Kings 3:12)

Good decision, Jesus.

When we don’t know what to do
we can always go to someone who knows You.

But there’s something better, isn’t there?

I need to know You! –
deeply, personally, intimately –
by living in Your Word

so I’ll know Your will…

and others can safely come to me.

Pray this Lazaroo with locked-in faith:

“…make my joy complete by being like-minded…”
(Philippians 2:1)

Many of us put a high premium on being different, Jesus!

And so we are.

No two of us are exactly alike.

You’ve made each of us unique.

Then why is it so important for the people in Your Church to be like-minded?

Well…there are some things that we all have to agree on, aren’t there?

Love for You.
Love for one another.
Compassion for the lost.
Obedience to Your Word.

Pray this Lazaroo with burning emotion:

“So Solomon removed Abiathar from the priesthood of the Lord, fulfilling the word the Lord had spoken at Shiloh about the house of Eli.”
(1 Kings 2:27)

When You say it, Jesus

it gets done.

Sometimes we have to wait –

for what seems to us like a long time –

but when Your Word comes true, we see…

not only that You kept Your Word
but that You fulfilled it in the perfect way
and in the perfect time.

HALLELUJAH!

Pray this Lazaroo in gratitude and renewed commitment:

“But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.”
(Ephesians 2:13)

I was far away, Jesus –

far, far, far away!

Thank You for bringing me near!

I never want to be apart from You, ever again!

May I always remember that many others who are far away

would love to be brought near
if only they knew they could be!

That’s my assignment, isn’t it?

To make sure they know.

Pray this Lazaroo from the depths of your soul:

“But Asahel refused to give up the pursuit; so Abner thrust the butt of his spear into Asahel’s stomach, and the spear came out through his back. He fell there and died on the spot.”
(2 Samuel 2:23)

Abner warned Asahel again and again, Jesus

to no avail.

Asahel had made up his mind that he was going to kill Abner –

ignoring the reality that Abner was the superior fighter.

Absent a direct command from you

may I never do likewise.

Pray this Lazaroo in all-out passion:

“…we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law…”
(Galatians 2:16)

You want me to try hard to please You, Jesus!

To try really, really hard
to give it my all.

But that’s not what saves me, is it?

It’s faith. Only faith.

Because as hard as I try

I fall short.

And sometimes – God forgive me!

I don’t try very hard at all.

Pray this Lazaroo in Spirit-led discernment:

“…I still had no peace of mind, because I did not find my brother Titus there. So I said good-by to them and went on to Macedonia.”
(2 Corinthians 2:13)

Paul had gone to Troas to preach the gospel, Jesus.

He discovered that You had opened that door for him.

So why didn’t he stay there?

Because when it’s half-right

it’s not right.

May I never forget that, Father!

Pray this Lazaroo in ardent love:

“May you be richly rewarded by the LORD…”
(Ruth 2:12)

None of us deserves anything, Jesus!

We’re all sinners, saved only by Your grace.
Our righteous deeds are as filthy rags.

We’ve come to You, believing
trusting in Your death, burial and resurrection

not because of our own goodness
but because You granted us the gift of faith
drawing us to Yourself.

So when You reward me for some good thing I’ve done

that’s nothing less than a stunning heavenly gift!

Pray this Lazaroo in humble awareness:

“…no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.”
(1 Corinthians 2:11)

But couldn’t I know at least some of Your thoughts, Jesus?

You could share them with me, Holy Spirit!

I don’t deserve a glimpse into what You’re thinking, Father

but wow – to be given just a taste?

Still, I don’t have the capacity to grasp even five full seconds of Your thoughts, do I?

‘cause You’re thinking about all 7.8 billion of us at once!

Pray this Lazaroo with redoubled intention:

“…when the judge died, the people returned to…following other gods and serving and worshiping them. They refused to give up their evil practices and stubborn ways.”
(Judges 2:19)

What an incentive to install Godly leaders, Jesus…

and what an indictment against us
for so desperately needing them.

Why do we stray without someone standing over us

constantly reminding us of what we need to do
taking strong, loving action when we disobey?

Sigh. It is what it is.

Give us great leaders!
