Pray this Lazaroo with deep longing:

“Turn, O LORD, and deliver me; save me because of your unfailing love.”
(Psalms 6:4)

David is asking you to turn toward Him, Jesus –

as though You had looked away.

Of course, You hadn’t!

But sometimes when we’re in deep distress
it feels like it.

I know:

You never turn Your back on me.

You’re always right here, watching over me

sustaining me through every anguishing trial

using it to teach me
and make me strong.

Pray this Lazaroo in fascination:

“Epaphras, my fellow prisoner…”
(Philemon 1:23)

So, Jesus…

Does Epaphras gets mentioned in the Bible
solely because he was in jail with Paul?

No.

There was something special about this man.

He and Paul had made a connection.
Knowing Paul, he had probably led Epaphras to You.

In a sense, Paul led me to You, too –

because through Your words in him
he taught those who first told me about You.

There are worse things

than being imprisoned with the Apostle Paul!

Pray this Lazaroo with pure devotion:

“…what I dreaded has happened to me.”
(Job 3:25)

They hang over all of us, Jesus –

these fears of what might happen.

You spare us from so many of them!

Hallelujah! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

But not from all.

Sometimes, what we most wanted to escape
grabs us around the neck in its cruel clutches.

The thing is…

You could have kept that from happening.

But You didn’t.

Because in deep, faithful love

You know best.

Pray this Lazaroo with pedal-to-the-metal commitment:

“…the older women…can train the younger women to love their…children…”
(Titus 2:3-4)

Most young moms have deep feelings of love for their children, Jesus

but that’s not the same as loving them
the way they need to be loved.

You’re the One who reveals when they need a hug

and when they need discipline

when they need encouragement
and when they need ultimatums

when they need their mothers to hold on tight
and when their mothers must let them go.

Pray this Lazaroo with white-hot fervor:

“…in the presence of the king.”
(Esther 2:23)

King Xerxes reigned over 127 provinces in the citadel of Susa, Jesus.

Mordecai the Jew had foiled a plot to assassinate the king.

His action was being recorded in the book of the annals
while the king looked on.

Nobody has to record for You what I’ve done, Father.

You know everything I think
hear every word I say.

May I always remember:

Everything I do is in Your Presence!

Pray this Lazaroo with total transparency:

“If we disown him, he will also disown us…”
(2 Timothy 2:12)

I will never do that, Jesus!

I want You, I need You, I love You
I have to have You!

You’re my only hope for a good life on this earth.

You’re my only hope for eternal life in heaven.
I’m sure not going to qualify on my own!

Why would anyone disown You, Jesus?

They’ve bought Satan’s lies, haven’t they?
And it’s costing them everything.

Pray this Lazaroo in mounting anticipation:

“…by the King’s Garden…”
(Nehemiah 3:15)

King’s Gardens are pretty close to the best gardens on earth, Jesus.

They have nearly unlimited funds to build them
the ability to incorporate the most exotic of plants
access to the most skilled gardening experts
their choice of the richest soil in the most desirable land.

But no earthly king’s garden can begin to compare

to the lavish, unimaginably stunning garden of your delights

that awaits my breathtaking arrival in heaven!

Pray this Lazaroo with laser-focused intensity:

“I also want women to dress modestly…”
(1 Timothy 2:9)

You want men to do the same, don’t You, Jesus?

Wow. Even the way we dress matters to You!

Please help me remember that every time I select an article of clothing:

“Is this pleasing to You, LORD?
Or do You prefer I wear something else?”

Some people would think that’s going too far with this 1on1 with Jesus thing, wouldn’t they?

But You don’t.

So neither do I.

Pray this Lazaroo in Spirit-given awareness:

“…they saw the foundation of this temple being laid…”
(Ezra 3:12)

How many times have I tried to start something, build something, do something, Jesus…

without properly considering the absolute importance
of laying a deep, strong, solid foundation?

Buildings without good foundations can’t withstand powerful storms.

Neither can projects, missions, businesses, families

lives.

While I’m in such a hurry to get started, I’m tempted to ignore the storms that will come.

But that’s a lethal mistake.
Because they will.

Pray this Lazaroo in abject repentence:

“…stand firm…”
(2 Thessalonians 2:15)

Is there any other way to stand, Jesus?

Sadly, yes.

Have I ever been wishy-washy in my stand for You, LORD?

speaking up for You some of the time
but not in others?

Have I ever been timid in my stand for You?

fearful, squeamish, unconfident.

Have I ever been absent in my stand for You?

failing to show up.

If so, O God! Forgive me!

May I from this moment forward

stand firm.
