Pray this Lazaroo with wholehearted adoration:

“When you have brought the people out of Egypt…”
(Exodus 3:12)

That has to be one of the most awesome things about following You, Jesus:

It’s never “if.”
It’s always “when.”

Not “if” You’ll see me through this latest hardship…

but “when.”

Not “if” I’ll receive everything I need from You to become the person You’ve created me to be…

but “when.”

Not “if” I’ll live in heaven forever with You when my life here is done…

but “when.”

Pray this Lazaroo with pedal-to-the-metal commitment:

“…you will be like God…”
(Genesis 3:5)

Satan uses that lie to get me to sin, Jesus

because that’s the lie he told himself
when he rebelled against You

and it blew up in his face.

The more I sin

the less I look like You
the more I look like Satan.

If I want to be like You

I’ve got to reject Satan’s lies
ignore his false promises

and follow closely after You
every step of the way.

Be inspired to greatness as you pray this Lazaroo:

“…nothing false was found on his lips.”
(Malachi 2:6)

High praise, Jesus.

In fact, behavior supposedly that amazing is almost always overstated
unless – as in this case – the declaration comes from You.

Which means Levi was quite a guy.

It’s tough to pull off flawless honesty in public

nearly impossible to maintain it in private.

But You saw him 24/7

at his worst, at his best
and watched him pass every test.

Make me another Levi, LORD!

Starting now.

Pray this Lazaroo with every fiber of your being:

“Come, O Zion!”
(Zechariah 2:7)

To be called by You, Jesus?

Nuthin’ better.

Means I’m one of the chosen.

King’s kid.
Gonna live forever.

Comes with Your patented protection package:

You’ll never leave me, never forsake me.

Whoever wants to get to me
has to get through You.

And nobody gets through You.

Everything that happens to me
is for my good.

If it doesn’t have the potential to help me
it doesn’t happen.

Call me, LORD!

I’m a-comin’.

Pray this Lazaroo with utter abandon:

“…whatever they offer…”
(Haggai 2:14)

I long for whatever I offer You, Jesus

to be accepted.
Pleasing in Your sight.

But the things I give You –

my time, talent, treasure –

are not nearly as important as the state of my heart when I hold them up to You, are they?

If my motives are false
my gifts are detestable to You.

Everything I could possibly give You originates from Your hand.

What You desire
is a clean heart.

Hold nothing back, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“…they will walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD.”
(Zephaniah 1:17)

That’s the price I have to pay when I sin, isn’t it, Jesus?

groping about in darkness
unable to discern what’s going on
mistaken again and again
fooled times beyond counting
stumbling, falling, hurting
lost and can’t find my way home

Satan’s running a pretty effective TV commercial, Father

but blindness is only one of the side effects
of the lethal drug he’s selling.

Pray this Lazaroo with spiritual discernment:

“…he gathers to himself all the nations…”
(Habakkuk 2:5)

This is too much for one evil man to accomplish, Jesus.

You’re describing the work of Satan near this earth’s end, aren’t You?

It’s disheartening to realize how many nations are now under his influence

and ugly beyond imagination to realize that one day
all nations will be crushed in his merciless grip

until You ride in with heaven’s army

and throw Lucifer and his hordes
into the bottomless pit.

Pray this Lazaroo in devoted passion:

“Guard the fortress…”
(Nahum 2:1)

What a crucially important reminder, Jesus!

I may think I have a fortress on this earth
but it had better be guarded.

Home…parents…marriage…children…family…job…business…country…

all can be gone faster than I can turn around in shock.

Whatever I think I have
Whoever I think I have
Whatever I think I can do

are from You
are kept by You
can only be guarded by You

for in reality I have only one true Fortress:

You.
