Pray this Lazaroo in the fear of God:

“…the king gave the order to Benaiah son of Jehoiada, and he went out and struck Shimei down and he died. The kingdom was now established in Solomon’s hands.”
(1 Kings 2:46)

As politically incorrect as it is to say it, Jesus

if there is to be peace

sometimes someone has to

leave
be kicked out
or die.

Whenever possible, You want us to work things out with each other.

But some people are nothing but hell on earth

until the day they draw their last, divisive breath.

Pray this Lazaroo with explosive feeling:

“…make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery…”
(Ephesians 3:9)

This isn’t only Paul’s assignment, Jesus

it’s mine, too.

Your good news isn’t hard to tell.

But it is hard to explain.

Why would the God of heaven come to earth as a man

and give Your life on the cross to save a wretch like me?

There’s one explanation and one explanation only:

You love us with a depth, passion and ferocity

that none of us can begin to comprehend.

Fully open your heart, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“…David sent messengers…demanding, ‘Give me my wife Michal’…So Ish-Bosheth gave orders and had her taken away from her husband Paltiel…Her husband, however, went with her, weeping behind her all the way to Bahurim. Then Abner said to him, ‘Go back home!’ So he went back.”
(2 Samuel 3:14-16)

Paltiel knew King Saul gave him Michal to spite David, Jesus.

Did he surrender her to do what was right

or because he was afraid of Abner?

May no one have to threaten me, Father!

to make me do what’s right.

Pray this Lazaroo with locked-in faith:

“Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: ‘All nations will be blessed through you.’ So those who rely on faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.”
(Galatians 3:8-9)

I have an earthly dad, Jesus.

Above all, there’s my Heavenly Father.

But because I have the faith of Abraham

he has become my spiritual father!

Pray this Lazaroo with burning emotion:

“The time is coming when I will cut short your strength and the strength of your priestly house, so that no one in it will reach old age, and you will see distress in my dwelling. Although good will be done to Israel, no one in your family line will ever reach old age.”
(1 Samuel 2:31-32)

Eli honored his sinning sons over You, Jesus.

Bad mistake.

You’ve commanded me to care for my family

but never if it dishonors You.

Pray this Lazaroo with full-on ardor:

“…we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. Therefore, since through God’s mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart.”
(2 Corinthians 3:18-4:1)

Keep the transformation coming, Jesus.

I have such a long way to go!

But I trust You. I believe in You. I know You Are God and I know You are Good.

I will not lose heart.

Pray this Lazaroo from the depths of your soul:

“Now Boaz, with whose women you have worked, is a relative of ours. Tonight he will be winnowing barley on the threshing floor. Wash, put on perfume, and get dressed in your best clothes. Then go down to the threshing floor, but don’t let him know you are there until he has finished eating and drinking.”
(Ruth 3:2-3)

Naomi had it all planned out for her widowed daughter-in-law, Jesus.

It worked.
Boaz and Ruth became husband and wife.

But never let me forget:

It works
o
nly when You work it.

Pray this Lazaroo with desperate desire:

“…he blew a trumpet in the hill country of Ephraim, and the Israelites went down with him from the hills, with him leading them. ‘Follow me,’ he ordered, ‘for the Lord has given Moab, your enemy, into your hands.’ So they followed him down and took possession of the fords of the Jordan that led to Moab…”
(Judges 3:27-28)

Ehud told the truth, Jesus.

There are others who want us to follow them, however, who are lying.

You haven’t sent them..

Give us holy discernment to tell the difference!

Pray this Lazaroo in humble gratitude:

“A person is not a Jew who is one only outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a person’s praise is not from other people, but from God.”
(Romans 2:28-29)

Wow.

You’re saying I’m not a Jew because my parents were Jews.

I’m a Jew

because I believe in You, Jesus –

the King of the Jews
the Root and Offspring of David.

Pray this Lazaroo in ardent love:

“In the future, when your children ask you, ‘What do these stones mean?’ tell them that the flow of the Jordan was cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord. When it crossed the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. These stones are to be a memorial to the people of Israel forever.”
(Joshua 4:6-7)

O Jesus!

Help me build into the fabric of my life
memorials to the wonderful times

when You intervened in my life!
