Pray this Lazaroo with keen anticipation:

“When Elisha reached the house, there was the boy lying dead on his couch. He went in, shut the door on the two of them and prayed to the Lord…As he stretched himself out on him, the boy’s body grew warm…The boy sneezed seven times and opened his eyes.”
(2 Kings 4:32-35)

You don’t usually raise the dead, Jesus.

Until it’s time for us to die You protect us.

But every once in a while You do the impossible!

to remind us You can.

Pray this Lazaroo in quiet trust:

“’…if you have gone astray while married to your husband and you have made yourself impure by having sexual relations with a man other than your husband…May this water that brings a curse enter your body so that your abdomen swells or your womb miscarries.’ Then the woman is to say, ‘Amen. So be it.’”
(Numbers 5:20-22)

It’s great to know when I’m innocent of the charges against me, Jesus

and terrifying when I know I’m guilty.

Human beings may guess wrong

But You never do

because You’re not guessing.

Pray this Lazaroo in the assurance only God can give:

“Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people. News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed; and he healed them.”
(Matthew 4:23-24)

Every disease, Jesus

and every person.

There’s no part of my body You can’t heal

because You’re the one who made it.

Pray this Lazaroo with bottomless trust:

“…the way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble. My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body.”
(Proverbs 4:19-22)

What a contrast, Jesus!

I get to choose:

be clueless about what caused
my last face plant

or live an overcoming life
in the Light of Your Word.

Pray this Lazaroo with burning emotion:

“We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body.”
(2 Corinthians 4:10-11)

That explains a lot, Jesus!

Not the explanation I was hoping for
but the one I fully embrace

confident that You know better than I do.

Pray this Lazaroo in humble gratitude.

“I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple…”
(Malachi 3:1)

You told us the name of that messenger, Jesus:

John the Baptist.

You Yourself are the Lord they were seeking who came to Your temple.

Though You came to Your own
they didn’t believe in You.

But there were some who believed in You.

To this day, all who do
have become Yours –

heart, mind, body and soul.

Pray this Lazaroo with ironclad conviction:

“Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God.”
(3 John 1:11)

I’m sure that’s true, Jesus.

But I haven’t seen You
and I’m determined not to do evil!

When Your disciple Thomas believed after He saw Your resurrected body

You told Him those would be blessed
who believe in You even though they haven’t seen You.

I haven’t seen You in person

but with countless others

I see You by faith!

That will be enough

until my faith becomes sight.

Pray this Lazaroo with sold-out surrender:

“The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.”
(James 3:6)

I don’t like to think of my tongue like this, Jesus!

But I wonder how many people have felt the fires of hell

from some of the harsh, judgmental, evil words
I have spoken over my lifetime.

May it never again be so!

Pray this Lazaroo in total honesty:

“When I think my bed will comfort me…even then you frighten me with dreams and terrify me with visions, so that I prefer strangling and death, rather than this body of mine. I despise my life; I would not live forever. Let me alone; my days have no meaning.”
(Job 7:13-16)

Why did you let Job speak to You like that, Jesus?

Because You knew how hard He had tried to please you

and how stunned he was
that You hadn’t protected him.

Help me remember why You did that

and how it ended.

Pray this Lazaroo with fierce determination:

“…though I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit and delight to see how disciplined you are and how firm your faith in Christ is.”
(Colossians 2:5)

Discipline is good, Jesus…

but it needs the foundation of faith.

Not weak faith.
Not inconsistent faith.
Not wild faith.
Not faith in self.
Not faith in others.
Not faith in science, education, government, or AI.

But rock-solid, firm to the core

faith in You
and in You alone.

On Christ the solid rock I stand.

All other ground is sinking sand.
