Pray this Lazaroo with growing understanding:

“It is decreed that the city be exiled and carried away.”
(Nahum 2:7)

I wouldn’t want to hear that decree, Jesus –

especially if I had reason to believe
it came straight from You.

Somewhat bizarre people have been standing on street corners for decades

holding signs declaring: “The End is Coming!”
Mostly, people give them a wide berth
and ignore their message.

But I’m staying alert, Father!

If the day comes when Your Word and Your Spirit say, “Go!”

I’m outta here!

Stand corrected, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“It is decreed…”
(Nahum 2:7)

I can issue decrees all day long, Jesus –

as can every king, president, prime minister, chairman
judge, commissioner, CEO, leader and person on earth.

But not one blessed thing will happen

unless YOU decree it!

Sometimes we get pretty full of ourselves

carried away by our titles, positions, responsibilities
all too often forgetting to Whom we’re responsible:

You.

When we fail to check in with the Boss of all bosses

our puny decrees fall flatter than a flitter.
