Pray this Lazaroo with deepened, determined understanding:

“…was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction? As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.”
(James 2:25-26)

I have faith in You, Jesus. I do.

Because that’s true
my actions will show it.

But if there is no behavior to back up my faith

the reality of my faith
can be called into question.

Pray this Lazaroo with sold-out surrender:

“‘Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,’ and he was called God’s friend. You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.”
(James 2:23-24)

James isn’t saying I’m saved because of the good works I do, Jesus.

He’s saying if I have true faith, my good works will show it.

However, if I claim to have faith but do the opposite

my claim is false.

True faith is revealed
by what I do.

Pray this Lazaroo in heart pounding love:

“You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless? Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did.”
(James 2:20-22)

Works without faith is dead, Jesus.

But so is faith without works.

I need both.

Help me, Father!
