Pray this Lazaroo with burning emotion:

“The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, it says, ‘The person who does these things will live by them.’”
(Galatians 3:12)

If I was counting on my obedience to Your law to save me, Jesus

I’d be doomed to hell.

To say I fall short is not only to state the obvious.
It’s the understatement of the century.

It’s not because I don’t care.

I try with all my might to please You…

and then I don’t.

for Your gift of faith!

Pray this Lazaroo in steadfast love:

You were battling Satan at the beginning of Your public ministry, Jesus.

He tried to get You to jump off the temple
to prove You’re the Son of God.

You’ve proved that over and over again!

But not in that foolish way.

I have no right to demand anything from You.

You’ve already proved Yourself to me and the world

Pray this Lazaroo with unshakable belief:

Why would You command Moses to count these people, Jesus?

You already knew how many there were.

In fact, as we humans almost always do
they probably made a few mistakes while they were counting.

But You have us count people because people count!

especially those who faithfully serve You.

Pray this Lazaroo with sold-out surrender:

“The total number of Levites counted at the LORD’s command…”
(Numbers 3:39)

It’s a good thing You’re the one who ordered this, Jesus

because the Levites were not to be counted.

That’s a bit confusing.

First You tell them not to do something
then You order them to do it.

What am I to do with such commands?

Obey them each time!

Don’t do it when You say not to.
Do it when You command it.
