Pray this Lazaroo with burning zeal:

“If she has made herself impure and been unfaithful to her husband,…her abdomen will swell and her womb will miscarry, and she will become a curse. If, however, the woman has not made herself impure, but is clean, she will be cleared of guilt and will be able to have children.”
(Numbers 5:27-28)

Thank You for Your vindication, Jesus!

When I’m falsely accused

please grant me Your favor –

and the means –

to clear my name.

Pray this Lazaroo in trembling awareness:

“The Lord Almighty declares, ‘I will send it out, and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of anyone who swears falsely by my name. It will remain in that house and destroy it completely, both its timbers and its stones.’”
(Zechariah 5:4)

Pretty scary, Jesus.

So…what are You going to send out?

That flying scroll that carries a curse.

Is that flying scroll hovering above the earth right now?

…above my country…my family…

…above me?

If so, only this will prevent it from entering:

Repentance and Obedience.

Pray this Lazaroo in quiet trust:

“’…if you have gone astray while married to your husband and you have made yourself impure by having sexual relations with a man other than your husband…May this water that brings a curse enter your body so that your abdomen swells or your womb miscarries.’ Then the woman is to say, ‘Amen. So be it.’”
(Numbers 5:20-22)

It’s great to know when I’m innocent of the charges against me, Jesus

and terrifying when I know I’m guilty.

Human beings may guess wrong

But You never do

because You’re not guessing.

Pray this Lazaroo with wholehearted adoration:

“The Lord said, ‘What have you done? Listen! Your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground. Now you are under a curse and driven from the ground, which opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. When you work the ground, it will no longer yield its crops for you. You will be a restless wanderer on the earth.’”
(Genesis 4:10-12)

What have I done, Jesus?

I deserve to be a restless wanderer…

but in Your stunning mercy to me through the cross

I rest in Your loving arms!

Pray this Lazaroo in holy fear:

“’I see a flying scroll, twenty cubits long and ten cubits wide.’ And he said to me, ‘This is the curse that is going out over the whole land; for according to what it says on one side, every thief will be banished, and according to what it says on the other, everyone who swears falsely will be banished.’”
(Zechariah 5:2-3)

What a dramatic way to reveal this timeless truth, Jesus:

You hate thievery and lying.

Therefore, those who engage in those behaviors

will be banished from Your Presence.

Pray this Lazaroo with lavish love:

“With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring?”
(James 3:9-11)

May my words always come from Your fresh water spring, Jesus!

You did not create my lips to spew salt water!

Keep me faithful to Your Word

as I store up Your truths within me.

Pray this Lazaroo in deepest gratitude:

“Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: ‘Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.’ He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.”
(Galatians 3:13-14)

Every time I think of this, I’m stunned, Jesus:

By faith in You

I receive the Holy Spirit
and the blessings promised to Abraham!

Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

Pray this Lazaroo with explosive feeling:

“Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: ‘Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.’”
(Galatians 3:13)

You loved us that much, Jesus!

You love me that much.

Me.

Totally unworthy, sin-plagued, mistake-ridden me.

Incomprehensible.

At my best, I’m barely tolerable.
At my worst, I’m unlovable.

I’m at my best so seldom.
I’m at my worst too often.

And still, You love me!

Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

Pray this Lazaroo with fiery determination:

“Instead of fragrance there will be a stench; instead of a sash, a rope; instead of well-dressed hair, baldness; instead of fine clothing, sackcloth; instead of beauty, branding. Your men will fall by the sword, your warriors in battle. The gates of Zion will lament and mourn; destitute, she will sit on the ground.”
(Isaiah 3:24-26)

So this is what a curse looks like, Jesus

Your punishment –

doled out not upon the heathen
but upon Your people, who’ve forsaken You.

Keep me true, Jesus!

May Your curse never fall on me.

Pray this Lazaroo in zealous love:

“For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written: ‘Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.’ Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God, because ‘the righteous will live by faith.’”
(Galatians 3:10-11)

I keep trying to do good, Jesus

and so I should.

But not to earn my salvation!

I give my all to please You
In gratitude for your gift of faith.
