Pray this Lazaroo all the way to the marrow of your bones:

“…teach the older women…”
(Titus 2:3)

Older women know a lot, Jesus.

They’ve seen a lot. Heard a lot. Felt a lot.

They’ve lived through historical events others have only read about.

They’ve experienced some of life’s best moments
and endured some of life’s worst.

They’re absolutely loaded with information, insights, secrets

to share with anyone who asks.

But they still need to be taught from Your Word

as does every person on earth
who still draws a breath.

Pray this Lazaroo with laser-focused intensity:

“…about the plot…”
(Esther 2:22)

There’s always a plot, isn’t there, Jesus?

And no, I’m not being paranoid.

Satan is constantly scheming against Your people!

But greater are You in us
than the evil one lurking in this world!

Fulfill Your Word in our behalf, Father!
May no weapon forged against us prevail.

Open our eyes. Help us see the traps set for us a mile away.

And cause those evil plots we know nothing about

to utterly fail.

Pray this Lazaroo in mind-blown amazement:

“With praise and thanksgiving…”
(Ezra 3:11)

You kinda like it when those two go together, don’t You, Jesus?

The praise because of Who You Are
The thanksgiving because of what You’ve done

and continue to do…and do…and do.

But to do either I have to pay attention, don’t I?

I’ve got to dismiss the idea of chance, luck, circumstance.
I’ve got to recognize that it is You! All You!

If I can’t do that

I still don’t know You.

Hold nothing back, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“You suffered…”
(1 Thessalonians 2:14)

So have I, Jesus –

oh, not as badly as some of Your people…
but I’ve suffered more than I thought I would.

Not that You didn’t warn me!

You made it clear that as Your child
I’ve got to pick up my cross and follow You.

I just didn’t know it would be this heavy.
I didn’t know I would have to carry it so far

or so long.

But that’s okay –

‘cause You’re worth it.

Pray this Lazaroo with renewed determination:

“This is the gospel that you heard…”
(Colossians 1:23)

Your gospel, Jesus!

The good news that You Are God
that You came to this earth as a baby
grew to be a man who taught truth, worked miracles
who died on the cross for the sins of all who believe
who will return to take Your followers to heaven forever.

Everybody’s got to hear your gospel!

Please use me however You wish, Father
to bring that miracle to pass.

Pray this Lazaroo in baffled amazement:

“So the king of Israel set out with the king of Judah…”
(2 Kings 3:9)

Talk about being unequally yoked, Jesus…

the king of Judah was honoring You
the king of Israel was not.

Still, You worked stunning miracles and gave this flawed partnership victory against their enemies on that day.

Why? Because it further advanced Your Plan of the Ages.

You’ll work through the worst of us and the best of us, won’t You?

…along with everybody in-between.

Fully open your heart, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“…the…struggle…you saw I had…”
(Philippians 1:30)

So how do I respond to people’s struggles, Jesus?

Sometimes I hurt with them, feel it to the bone
fervently pray.

But at other times, not so much.

Sometimes I quickly look away
not wanting to grapple with it.

Sometimes I shudder,
thinking, “Glad it’s not me.”

Sometimes I believe they’re getting
what they deserve.

Forgive me, LORD!

Enable me to respond to their pain
as I beg You to respond to mine.
