 Pray this Lazaroo with humility:

“Next to him Meshullam son of Berekiah, the son of Meshezabel, made repairs, and next to him Zadok son of Baana also made repairs.”
(Nehemiah 3:4)

That’s what it takes to accomplish a great task, isn’t it, Jesus?

a lot of people doing their part.

They might not do it as well as I would.

They might do it better. 😉

I do have to work like it all depends on me

without ever forgetting
that it doesn’t.

Decide in advance to obey, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“I urge, then, first of all, that…prayers…be made for everyone…”
(1 Timothy 2:1)

I don’t mind praying for good people, Jesus

friends, family
children, the elderly
those sick and hurting.

However…when you tell me to pray for “everyone”…

that includes evil people

terrorists
liars, cheaters
thieves, rapists, murderers

my enemies.

I have to confess, Father: I don’t want to.

But since You say so, I’ll do it.
I’ll pray for them

until I’m forced to pray against them.

Pray this Lazaroo with every fiber of your being:

“…the foundation of the LORD’S temple had not yet been laid.”
(Ezra 3:6)

Until the foundation is laid, Jesus…

…not much can happen.

With no foundation, the building will fall.
With a wrong foundation, the building will fall.

With the right foundation

the building will stand forever.

You are my Foundation, Jesus!

Let the floods come.
Let the winds blow.
Let the earth quake.
Let the bombs blast.

On You, my Solid Rock I stand.
All other ground is sinking sand.

Pray this Lazaroo in tearful gratitude:

“…the one who now holds it back…”
(2 Thessalonians 2:7)

Praise Your holy, loving, merciful, powerful Name, LORD Jesus!

for being the God who “holds it back.”

Just as You held back the waters of the Red Sea so Your people could safely cross

You hold back the punishment due me for my sins
You hold back the evil that threatens to destroy me

You hold back the exposure of my worst flaws
that would cause everyone around me to withdraw in disgust.

Hold nothing back, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“You can then take them up to Jerusalem.”
(2 Chronicles 2:16)

Hiram was talking about logs, Jesus

just logs.

So why take up space in Your eternal Word to tell me about logs?

Because when the logs are for You
they’re never “just logs.”

They become more.

Ennobled by their high and holy purpose
they themselves become holy.

That’s kinda nice to know

since I’m dedicating myself
my every ability
all I possess
all that I am

to You.

Ask God to show it to you straight, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“…how…righteous…we were among you…”
(1 Thessalonians 2:10)

When a righteous person walks into the room, things often get quiet, Jesus.

There’s respect, yes
maybe fear

more than a little nervousness…discomfort.

Why?

Perhaps because a righteous person reminds us of our own

unrighteousness.

Do I long for Your righteousness to rise within me, LORD?

There’s a lot of downward pressure from my culture
even from some close to me

to just be one of the crowd.

Time to choose.
