Pray this Lazaroo with pure devotion:

“…held in slavery by their fear of death.”
(Hebrews 2:15)

Death does that, Jesus

so long as I’m afraid to die.

Well…I am.

Some days a little
some days a lot.

I know better.

Because of my faith in You
I don’t have to fear death.

The moment I breathe my last here
I open my eyes there

with You
in heaven
forever.

That’s not the part I’m afraid of.

It’s the pain I may have to endure
to get there.

Pray this Lazaroo with keen anticipation:

“The LORD…brings down to the grave…”
(1 Samuel 2:6)

Unless You come back for Your Church first, Jesus

that’s where You’ll one day bring my body.

My time on earth is so short!

I’ve got to make it count.

Even so, the thing that gives me such hope is this:

My body may spend some time in the grave
but I won’t.

Because of my faith and trust in You alone

when my body goes down
I’ll go up.

Pray this Lazaroo from the depths of your soul:

“The LORD…makes alive…”
(1 Samuel 2:6)

You don’t merely allow life to happen, Jesus
Nor do You simply watch it happen.

You make it happen.

In fact, if You don’t create it

it doesn’t happen.

I’m alive because You caused me to be here

…as is true for every person on earth.

And now, through my trust in You –

Your death on the cross in my behalf

Your burial
Your resurrection

You’ve wrought something totally new:

I’m alive forevermore.

 Fully open your heart, as you pray this Lazaroo: 

“Joram son of Ahab became king of Israel…and he reigned twelve years.”
(2 Kings 3:1)

I read this and move on, Jesus

not thinking about how it felt to Joram.

How excited he must have been to become the next king!

His dad was in power 22 years.
No doubt he believed he could easily top that.

But he didn’t.

How long will I reign over my little kingdom, LORD?

You alone know!
Help me make it count.
