Pray this Lazaroo with over-the-top trust:

“…you have known him who is from the beginning.”
(1 John 2:14)

That would be You, Jesus.

Yes, You came to this earth as a baby
born of a virgin.

You grew, lived, loved, taught, worked miracles
died, rose from the dead, returned to heaven.

But before Abraham was born

You Are.

You created the heavens and the earth

every plant, animal and human – all of it.

Now You’ve given me the privilege of 1on1 time with You?

Mind-blowing.

Pray this Lazaroo with righteous hunger:

“My priests and my elders perished in the city while they searched for food…”
(Lamentations 1:19)

That’s about as desperate as it gets, Jesus.

There’s always food to be found in the city

especially when you’re somebody important
like a priest or an elder

unless the city itself has no food.

They didn’t just go hungry.

They starved to death.

There’s more than one way to die of hunger, isn’t there?

when there’s a famine
of hearing Your Word.

Pray this Lazaroo with locked-in faith:

“One group sat down on one side of the pool and one group on the other side.”
(2 Samuel 2:13)

This didn’t end well, Jesus.

It seldom does, when two opposing sides square off.

One of them was in the right, the other in the wrong

but people on both sides suffered and died.

The next time I get ready to square off against someone

please confirm for me beyond the shadow of a doubt
that I’m on Your side.

Pray this Lazaroo, thirsting for God’s wisdom:

“…from his mouth men should seek instruction…”
(Malachi 2:7)

This Bible passage could be referring to You, Jesus

but it isn’t.

It’s referring to the office of priest.

You’re saying people should be able to go to the priest
and learn something important.

Of course, that important truth originates with You

but You expect the priest to be the one who conveys it.

Now that You’ve come, died and risen

all of Your followers have that responsibility

including me.
