Pray this Lazaroo in growing understanding:

“Turn your face toward the siege of Jerusalem and with bared arm prophesy against her. I will tie you up with ropes so that you cannot turn from one side to the other until you have finished the days of your siege.”
(Ezekiel 4:7-8)

Just as You did with Ezekiel, Jesus

so You sometimes do with me.

You had given him a difficult task –

one he might have been tempted to abandon.

So You tied him to it.

That explains a whole lot of what’s happening in my life.

Pray this Lazaroo in renewed hope:

“Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.”
(Hebrews 2:18)

I’m not happy that You suffered, Jesus.

But it’s so encouraging to learn that temptation was difficult for You.

It’s incredibly hard to say, “No!” to one of Satan’s clever temptations.

But knowing that You suffered to keep from caving in to what Satan was dangling under Your nose

gives me confidence that with Your help

I can, too.
