Take it to heart, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety…”
(1 Timothy 2:9)

Paul had just finished telling the men what he wanted them to do, Jesus –

lifting up holy hands in prayer
without anger or disputing.

Now, he’s asking the women of the church

to dress in a way that glorifies You.

My guess is he’s correcting the shortcomings of each. 😉

Do I need to correct any of this, LORD?

Wholehearted worship
anger
disputing
dressing modestly?

Pray this Lazaroo in holy fear:

“…without…disputing.”
(1 Timothy 2:8)

You’re not commanding Your Church to be only “yes people,” Jesus.

We’re allowed to disagree, to share alternative views
so long as they’re based on Your Word
and not mere opinion.

But what You forbid is disputing – argumentative disagreement –

the kind that is disrespectful, disruptive, disorderly.

Disputing destroys the unity of Your Church
which is so crucial to Your mission!

Show me how to respectfully offer a different view

while trusting You for the outcome.
