Pray this Lazaroo with ironclad conviction:

“Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God.”
(3 John 1:11)

I’m sure that’s true, Jesus.

But I haven’t seen You
and I’m determined not to do evil!

When Your disciple Thomas believed after He saw Your resurrected body

You told Him those would be blessed
who believe in You even though they haven’t seen You.

I haven’t seen You in person

but with countless others

I see You by faith!

That will be enough

until my faith becomes sight.

Pray this Lazaroo with a transparent heart:

“Anyone who does what is good is from God.”
(3 John 1:11)

That’s…quite a statement, Jesus.

There are a lot of people out there
who don’t accept You as Savior
who do good.

Oh, but wait a minute.

A deed is truly good
only when it’s done from pure motives –

and pure motives
originate with You.

When I do a so-called good deed
to win the approval of others

I’m serving myself –

not You or them

and the deed is soiled.

Pray this Lazaroo with profound gratitude:

“Daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you by the gazelles and by the does of the field: Do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires.”
(Song of Songs 3:5)

It sounds like Solomon’s wife may have learned the hard way, Jesus:

Don’t force it.

Or even better:

You can’t force it!

True love is a choice.

Which is why I’m thrilled to realize:

You chose to love me!

which is why with all my heart:

I choose to love You!

Pray this Lazaroo with earnest desire:

“Joab answered, ‘As surely as God lives, if you had not spoken, the men would have continued pursuing them until morning.’ So Joab blew the trumpet, and all the troops came to a halt; they no longer pursued Israel, nor did they fight anymore.”
(2 Samuel 2:27-28)

You’re the one who prompted Joab’s mercy, Jesus.

Both sides were Your people!

No matter what another Christian says or does to me

may I never forget how much You love all your children!
