If I was counting on my obedience to Your law to save me, Jesus

I’d be doomed to hell.

To say I fall short is not only to state the obvious.
It’s the understatement of the century.

It’s not because I don’t care.

I try with all my might to please You…

and then I don’t.

First of all, I can’t make it without You.

But if You would also be against me?

That’s certainly what I desire, Jesus!

Disappointments, losses, hard times and setbacks are one thing.
Ruin…hangs around a little longer.

However: Anyone who foolishly attempts to escape the clutches of ruin in their own strength

is cursed, marked, doomed to failure –

not only on this earth
