Pray this Lazaroo in grateful reverence:

“And this is love…”
(2 John 1:6)

When You begin a sentence with those words, Jesus

I need to be on the edge of my seat, paying close attention.

My definition of love has no meaning if it’s not the same as Yours.

You’re the Inventor of love.

You’re its Creator
its Perfect Example
its Giver
its Sustainer.

You’re the very definition of love.

If I want to understand love

all I have to do is look at You.

Pray this Lazaroo in focused anticipation:

“For this is what the LORD Almighty says…”
(Zechariah 2:8)

If I thought – really believed it –

that You were about to speak to me, Jesus

I’d be on the edge of my seat
shutting down, turning off every distraction
hyper-focused, eager to hear the first word

thinking I ought to take notes
terrified that if I did, I might miss some of it.

The thing is, You are about to speak to me

every time I open my Bible.
