Pray this Lazaroo from the depths of your soul:

“As you summon to a feast day, so you summoned against me terrors on every side. In the day of the Lord’s anger no one escaped or survived; those I cared for and reared my enemy has destroyed.”
(Lamentations 2:22)

We make a lethal mistake, don’t we, Jesus?

When we sin and nothing happens
we think nothing will happen.

We fail to realize You’re giving us time to repent.

But if we don’t

on a day seemingly like any other
suddenly the day of Your anger will arrive.

Pray this Lazaroo with desperate desire:

“He has overthrown you without pity, he has let the enemy gloat over you, he has exalted the horn of your foes. The hearts of the people cry out to the Lord. You walls of Daughter Zion, let your tears flow like a river day and night; give yourself no relief, your eyes no rest.”
(Lamentations 2:17-18)

It’s hard to see You like this, Jesus

but absolutely essential.

You’re giving me a clear picture of the horror of sin.

May I hate and reject the sin in my life
as much as You do.

Take notes, as you pray this Lazaroo::

“Jesus said to him, ‘Away from me, Satan! For it is written: “Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.”’ Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.”
(Matthew 4:10-11)

You’re teaching me how to successfully battle the devil, Jesus:

1. Tell him to get away.
2. Quote the Word to him.
3. Make it clear that I will serve no one but You.

That kind of encounter with the enemy of my soul can be exhausting.

But when needed

You’ll send Your angels to attend me!

Pray this Lazaroo with desperate desire:

“…he blew a trumpet in the hill country of Ephraim, and the Israelites went down with him from the hills, with him leading them. ‘Follow me,’ he ordered, ‘for the Lord has given Moab, your enemy, into your hands.’ So they followed him down and took possession of the fords of the Jordan that led to Moab…”
(Judges 3:27-28)

Ehud told the truth, Jesus.

There are others who want us to follow them, however, who are lying.

You haven’t sent them..

Give us holy discernment to tell the difference!

Never forget! as you pray this Lazaroo:

“But now be so kind as to look at me. Would I lie to your face? Relent, do not be unjust; reconsider, for my integrity is at stake. Is there any wickedness on my lips? Can my mouth not discern malice?”
(Job 6:28-30)

Job can’t believe it, Jesus.

His friends have stopped comforting him
and started accusing him –

insisting all his troubles
are his fault!

Somehow they’ve forgotten there’s an enemy of our souls

who attacks the righteous.

Pray this Lazaroo in bold, confident faith:

“That too was considered a land of the Rephaites, who used to live there; but the Ammonites called them Zamzummites. They were a people strong and numerous, and as tall as the Anakites. The Lord destroyed them from before the Ammonites, who drove them out and settled in their place.”
(Deuteronomy 2:20-21)

No matter how big or how powerful my enemy, Jesus…

please help me remember:

The bigger they are

the harder they fall

when You’re the one

knocking them down.

Pray this Lazaroo with pedal-to-the-metal commitment:

“…you see something dreadful and are afraid. Have I ever said, ‘Give something on my behalf, pay a ransom for me from your wealth, deliver me from the hand of the enemy, rescue me from the clutches of the ruthless’? Teach me, and I will be quiet; show me where I have been wrong.’”
(Job 6:21-24)

Job had no clue that You were proving his greatness to Satan, Jesus.

Help me trust You, LORD!

even when to me
what’s happening makes no sense.

Pray this Lazaroo with total transparency:

“…’I will give ten thousand talents of silver to the king’s administrators for the royal treasury.’ So the king took his signet ring from his finger and gave it to Haman…the enemy of the Jews. ‘Keep the money,’ the king said to Haman, ‘and do with the people as you please.’”
(Esther 3:9-11)

When Haman conspired against Your people, Jesus

he made a fatal mistake.

When the king bought in without doing his homework

he made one, too

Guide me, Holy Spirit!

I don’t want to make any fatal mistakes!

Pray this Lazaroo from the depths of your heart:

“Where now is the lions’ den, the place where they fed their young, where the lion and lioness went…”
(Nahum 2:11)

The lion and lioness need a den, Jesus –

a place to rest
to hide from their enemies
to call home.

And so do my precious brothers and sisters around the world.

But some of them are too poor.
Others are being attacked, fleeing for their lives.

O God!

Rescue them!
Don’t let the enemy overtake them.

I beg You.
