There’s a lot I don’t know, Jesus

but that’s about to change.

When my life on this earth is over and I stand before You, Face-to-face –

I will know everything I need to know
as fully as You know me right now.

Until that amazing day dawns

I’d do well to remember that I haven’t yet reached that exalted state
especially next time I feel like stubbornly arguing my point

against someone equally deluded.

Okay, Jesus –

When my job is quality control
I have to find and report every fault!

But when it comes to my relationships with others?

What they need most from me is encouragement
not relentless criticism.

How often do Your people fall short because of discouragement –

especially when somebody comes along
and nitpicks them to death?

Why would I ever do that?

Maybe because I’d rather find fault in others
than in myself.
