Pray this Lazaroo with earnest desire:

“Unlike their fathers…”
(Judges 2:17)

That can be a bad thing, Jesus

…or something very good.

Of course, no one is exactly like their father

so that’s understood.

But fathers leave examples for us to follow…or reject.

If my father was an evil person
may I not repeat his sins!

But if my father was a good man
help me walk in his footsteps

while never forgetting that the only perfect example that is always safe to follow

is Yours.

Step up to the plate as you pray this Lazaroo:

“…on behalf of the Israelites.”
(Numbers 3:38)

Anything I do “on behalf” of someone else can be nerve-racking, Jesus!

It’s not just about me.
It’s about them.

To think that what I do on their behalf affects them – negatively or positively –

creates a lot of pressure.

I’m tempted to avoid the stress and reject such duties

until I realize that’s impossible.
Everything I do affects somebody else.

As Your follower, I’m always setting an example

for good
or harm.

Beg God to help you walk your talk as you pray this Lazaroo:

“…the harsh words ungodly sinners have spoken…”
(Jude 1:15)

Ungodly sinners are known for harsh words, Jesus.

But how much worse are harsh words
spoken by me?

I’m supposed to be Your child –

redeemed by Your blood on the cross –
chosen, changed, sanctified.

I’m supposed to set a holy example

safe for everyone to follow.

How is the person I’ve spoken harshly against

supposed to be able to tell the difference
between me and an ungodly sinner?

They can’t.

Sober up, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“May God deal with me…”
(1 Kings 2:23)

Oh, Jesus.

We human beings don’t pay nearly enough attention to our words, do we?

King Solomon was about to pronounce the death sentence upon his brother.

In fact, he was so angry at his brother at that moment
that he declared his intent with an oath.

But before I follow Solomon’s example, it might be good for me to remember:

If I ask You to deal with me

You will.
