“Turn your face toward the siege of Jerusalem and with bared arm prophesy against her. I will tie you up with ropes so that you cannot turn from one side to the other until you have finished the days of your siege.”
(Ezekiel 4:7-8)

Just as You did with Ezekiel, Jesus

so You sometimes do with me.

You had given him a difficult task –

one he might have been tempted to abandon.

So You tied him to it.

You were creating an object lesson
to warn Your people of what was coming.

Ezekiel waited seven days to hear Your assignment, Jesus.

That’s how bad Ezekiel’s countrymen had become, Jesus.

He couldn’t believe what he was seeing!

Your people doing detestable things – things forbidden in Your Law.
Most of all – unthinkably! – Your people worshiping other gods.

Once they forsook you
the vile behavior soon followed.

O Jesus!

Sell out totally to God as you pray this Lazaroo:

“I heard behind me a loud rumbling sound…”

That would get my attention, Jesus!

For good reason.

It wasn’t a wagon, a rock or a herd of animals.
It was the sound of the wings of supernatural beings!

Shivers. Terror. Awe. Goose bumps.

I’ve never heard that sound Ezekiel heard

but You led him to share it with me so I could imagine it.

But not only imagine it.
Anticipate it!

…when I join him in heaven.
