Pray this Lazaroo with eyes wide open:

“‘Stand in the doorway of the tent,’ he told her. ‘If someone comes by and asks you, “Is anyone in there?” say “No.”’” But Jael, Heber’s wife, picked up a tent peg and a hammer and went quietly to him while he lay fast asleep, exhausted. She drove the peg through his temple into the ground, and he died.”
(Judges 4:20-21)

Jael did this for You, Jesus.

But the principle is clear:

If I don’t know for a fact someone is trustworthy
never let down my guard.

Pray this Lazaroo with utter abandon:

“Will they not wake up…?”
(Habakkuk 2:7)

Your prophet is not talking about nice people, Jesus.

They’re the kind I’d rather see stay fast asleep.
I’m not too crazy about my enemies being sharp and alert.

You’re the only one who can keep them snoozing, Father –

or if they happen to be awake and on the prowl
You’re the only on who can put them to sleep.

On the other hand…

please help me keep my eyes wide open.

Pray this Lazaroo overwhelmed with gratitude:

“…not see the first rays of dawn.”
(Job 3:9)

Some people never see the first rays of dawn, Jesus.

They’re fast asleep.

Others could if they wanted to

but they’re busy inside.

Still others can’t see the sun’s first rays or anything else

because they’re blind.

Those first rays are precious, Jesus!

May I never take them for granted.

They signify that You’ve granted me one more day

to serve You with all my heart, soul, mind and strength.
