Pray this Lazaroo with never-say-die grit:

“If we endure…”
(2 Timothy 2:12)

That’s one big “if,” isn’t it, Jesus?

It’s one thing to start strong.
I’ve done that plenty of times.

But it’s another thing entirely to keep going through the slog of the middle

all the way to the finish line.

The initial burst of excitement wanes.
There’s pushback…there are setbacks.
My run slows to a walk…a trudge…a crawl.

I’ve started far more times than I’ve finished.

But by Your grace
not this time.

Pray this Lazaroo with pedal-to-the-metal commitment:

“Teach the older men to be temperate…”
(Titus 2:2)

Why did Paul list temperance first, Jesus?

What is there about being an older man
that tempts him to be intemperate?

Is it the reality of a closer finish line?

Is Satan trying to panic him into acting rashly
for fear that he may miss out on something?

But You won’t let that happen, will You?

No good thing will You withhold
from those who stay 1on1 with You.
