Pray this Lazaroo with informed caution:

“Woe to the city of blood, full of lies, full of plunder…”
(Nahum 3:1)

People would expect a city full of plunder

to be in pretty good shape, Jesus!

But it’s the blood they’ve shed to get it
the lies they’ve told to keep it

that earn Your pronouncement of woe.

When You say, “Woe!”

I’d better say, “Woah!”

and quickly repent
stop harming others
stop telling lies

or I’ll discover firsthand
just how terrible Your woes can be.

Open your heart, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“You will have plenty to eat, until you are full, and you will praise the name of the Lord your God, who has worked wonders for you; never again will my people be shamed.”
(Joel 2:26)

One day all of us will have plenty to eat, Jesus

but not yet.

One day all of us will avoid shame

but that day is still in the future.

However, there is one thing we can do:

We can praise Your holy Name!
For you have, indeed, worked wonders for us!

Pray this Lazaroo with eyes of wisdom:

“…they cannot rest until they do evil; they are robbed of sleep till they make someone stumble. They eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence. The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.”
(Proverbs 4:16-18)

What a contrast, Jesus!

The life of the wicked

vs.

The life of the righteous.

I choose Your sun-drenched path, Father!

Lead me in every good and perfect way!

Pray this Lazaroo in deep respect:

“The Lord said to Moses, ‘Say to the Israelites: “Any man or woman who wrongs another in any way and so is unfaithful to the Lord is guilty and must confess the sin they have committed. They must make full restitution for the wrong they have done, add a fifth of the value to it and give it all to the person they have wronged.”’”
(Numbers 5:5-7)

I’ve gotta believe, Jesus…

if we followed Your rule today

a lot fewer of us
would choose to wrong another.

Pray this Lazaroo all the way to the marrow of your bones:

“At that time Tattenai, governor of Trans-Euphrates, and Shethar-Bozenai and their associates went to them and asked, ‘Who authorized you to rebuild this temple and to finish it?’ They also asked, ‘What are the names of those who are constructing this building?’”
(Ezra 5:3-4)

Intimidation tactics, Jesus.

Evil people are full of them.

Help me see their wicked strategies a mile away!

Help me deal with their threats and manipulations
with the supernatural wisdom that comes only from You.

Pray this Lazaroo with mounting excitement:

“In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and peoples will stream to it.”
(Micah 4:1)

Are these the last days, Jesus?

Because what You predicted
what many once thought to be unthinkable

is happening.

People are indeed streaming to the mountain of Your temple!

By the millions they’re coming from the four corners of the earth
to walk that sacred ground in full awareness

that You have exalted it above the hills.

Lean heavily on God as you pray this Lazaroo:

“Now the overseer… must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him, and he must do so in a manner worthy of full respect. (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?)
(1 Timothy 3:2,4-5)

What a challenge for this man You’ve called into Your service, Jesus!

You know how Satan attacks him, his wife
and every member of his family.

Protect them, LORD!

Pray this Lazaroo in total awareness:

“King Nebuchadnezzar made an image of gold, sixty cubits high and six cubits wide, and set it up on the plain of Dura in the province of Babylon. He then summoned the satraps, prefects, governors, advisers, treasurers, judges, magistrates and all the other provincial officials to come to the dedication of the image he had set up.”
(Daniel 3:1-2)

King Nebuchadnezzar got a bit full of himself, didn’t he, Jesus?

He thought he had made himself great.

He hadn’t.

As with every one of my accomplishments

it’s all You.

Hold nothing back, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“They brought the jars to her and she kept pouring. When all the jars were full, she said to her son, ‘Bring me another one.’ But he replied, ‘There is not a jar left.’ Then the oil stopped flowing.”
(2 Kings 4:5-6)

When does Your miraculous oil stop flowing, Jesus?

When I quit bringing You jars.

With Your help, I’m not going to be like that widow’s son.

I’ll scour heaven and earth

to find another jar.

Here, LORD!

Please fill it.

Beg God for patience, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“…keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait…”
(Jude 1:21)

Waiting is so hard, Jesus!

I long to experience the full measure of what You have in store for me.

I confess my impatience.
I want it all now!

But I trust that You know best.

Each stage of life You’ve brought me through
has prepared me for the next.

Now is no exception.
When I’m fully ready –

and only then!

will Your next adventure for me be revealed.
