Pray this Lazaroo with utter belief:

“Therefore, holy brothers and sisters…”
(Hebrews 3:1)

My first thought is

You’re not talking to me, Jesus.

If You had started out with, “Therefore, dirty rotten sinners…”

I’d have perked right up:
“Hey! A personal message from God!”

But then I remember:

We’re all dirty rotten sinners.
Every last one of us.

So unless You’re talking to Your imaginary friends

then by Your grace alone –
because of my sin debt You eradicated on the cross

You’re talking to me.

Pray this Lazaroo with full-on ardor:

“For it is by grace you have been saved…”
(Ephesians 2:8)

I believe that with all my heart, Jesus!

The easy part to believe in is Your grace.

Over and over again
You treat me better than I deserve.

God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense.

The hard part for me to get my head around is that I’m really and truly saved!

I know what I am.
I know what my sins deserve.

I’m rescued only…only…only…

by Your grace.

I still can’t fully comprehend what it cost You

to make my eternity in heaven a gift.

But it had to be!

Because try as I might
I could never earn it.

May I never take for granted

what You did for me
what You do for me
what You’re about to do for me.
