When great things happen to me, Jesus

do I realize You’re the one I should thank?

True, You work through events, weather, people – even animals!

So it’s easy to forget that my blessings come through them

not from them.

Certainly, when people deliberately choose to be good to me

You bless them richly.

But with a grateful heart may I never forget:

It’s You.

It helps to see who You’re willing to be associated with, Jesus.

Isaac was born when his dad Abraham was 100 years old
and his mother Sarah was 90!

Abraham almost sacrificed him
because that’s what he thought You wanted.

No, Isaac wasn’t perfect.

He lied about his wife.
Played favorites with his children.

But You accomplished great things through this flawed man.

Please, LORD!

Accomplish great things through even more deeply flawed

me.
