Pray this Lazaroo from the depths of your soul:

“…but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries.”
(Daniel 2:28)

Yes, there is, Jesus!

You understand every mystery that baffles us.

You’re the Creator of all.
You’re the Creator of all mysteries.

But as true as that is, that’s not what Daniel said.

He said you reveal mysteries!

Oh, Hallelujah!

Dear God:

Would it please You to reveal to our scientists
the mystery of this Coronavirus that has us by the throat?

Please.
We beg You.

Pray this Lazaroo with total transparency:

“…you surround [the righteous] with your favor as with a shield.”
(Psalms 5:12)

What a promise, Jesus! What incredible assurance!

If only I were righteous.

I don’t have to tell You: I’m a sinner.

You’re the one who’s righteous.
I’m the one who’s not.

Except…

because I put all my faith and trust and hope in You
and because You’ve forgiven every sin I’ve ever committed…

am I now standing –

not in my own righteousness –

but in Yours?

Oh, hallelujah!

Pray this Lazaroo overwhelmed with gratitude:

“The LORD…appeared to me and said: ‘ I have watched over you…’”
(Exodus 3:16)

You’ve never appeared to me, Jesus –

at least not that I know! –

but You sure have watched over me.

You promised You would

and You’ve kept Your promise.

In fact, You’ve kept Your promises to me

far better than I’ve kept mine to You.

There’s nothing fair about that.

Since I’ve broken my promises
You have every right to break Yours.

But hallelujah!
You don’t.

Pray this Lazaroo with growing understanding:

“He summons his picked troops, yet they stumble on their way.”
(Nahum 2:5)

What an honor to be chosen by You, Jesus –

to be given a holy task, a meaningful goal
a vital assignment!

But just because You’ve sent me

doesn’t mean I’ll complete my mission.

I have to stay deep, daily, moment-by-moment, 1on1 with You

or I’ll stumble along the way.

Sadly, that’s already happened – many times.

But hallelujah!

You keep picking me up
and sending me again.

Pray this Lazaroo with all your might:

“God chose you…”
(2 Thessalonians 2:13)

Are there any sweeter words in any language, Jesus?

You chose me!

Me! Unworthy, sin-stained, fault-ridden, inconsistent, sad sack me!

Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

This must stun all of heaven.

The angels’ jaws have to drop.
Satan must be blinking in disbelief, baffled.

But not as baffled as I…nor those who know me.

Every time we lift Your Name in worship

The loudest praise

should be mine.

Pray this Lazaroo – your heart bursting with gratitude:

“…Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom…”
(1 Timothy 2:5-6)

Oh, what a revelation, Jesus!

I was a prisoner to death, hell, sin, my own flesh
my fallen nature held captive by Satan.

The only payment that could buy my release was Your life.
And You paid it! You paid it! You paid it!

Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

Never let me forget what my freedom cost You.

How dare I return to the gloom and stench
of my old cell?

Allow your soul to sound His praise in this Lazaroo:

“the Levites…with cymbals…”
(Ezra 3:10)

These aren’t the crash cymbals used in a modern rock band, are they, Jesus?

The Levites struck two cymbals together
each about 3-4” wide.

One cymbal made the “A” sound
the other the sound of “C”.

Played together, they created a beautiful, ringing, melodic harmony

which, in the Davidic Cypher, equates to Your Name, YAH.

When they sounded their cymbals, they were playing Your Name –

Hallelu-YAH!

O God!

May my life “sound” Your Name!

Pray this Lazaroo with locked-in faith:

“Let Abishag the Shunammite be given in marriage to your brother Adonijah.”
(1 Kings 2:21)

How many times have I made Bathsheba’s mistake, Jesus?

She thought she was doing her son’s brother a favor.

But if Solomon had granted her request

Adonijah may have overthrown his brother as king
and killed her and Solomon.

How many times have people plotted behind my back?
How many times have You rescued me from dangers I couldn’t see?

Thank You!
Thank You!
Thank You!
