Pray this Lazaroo in steadfast faith:

“They are lazy; that is why they are crying out, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to our God.’ Make the work harder for the people so that they keep working and pay no attention to lies.”
(Exodus 5:8-9)

But they weren’t lazy, Jesus!

They were obeying You!

May I always remember:

Even when I’m doing exactly what You desire
this can happen to me.

When others judge me harshly

should I quit obeying You?

No!
Never.

Pray this Lazaroo with absolute confidence:

“At that time they will call Jerusalem The Throne of the Lord, and all nations will gather in Jerusalem to honor the name of the Lord. No longer will they follow the stubbornness of their evil hearts. In those days the people of Judah will join the people of Israel, and together they will come from a northern land to the land I gave your ancestors as an inheritance.
(Jeremiah 3:17-18)

No matter how unlikely that appears at this moment, Jesus

this will happen!

Pray this Lazaroo with eyes-wide-open love:

“I am the man who has seen affliction by the rod of the Lord’s wrath. He has driven me away and made me walk in darkness rather than light; indeed, he has turned his hand against me again and again, all day long.”
(Lamentations 3:1-3)

Jeremiah didn’t sugarcoat it, Jesus.

He knew You had the power to stop the attacks against him.

You’re my Protector, too.

When bad things happen to me
it’s Your choice to cause or allow them…

because You know what’s best.

Fully open your heart, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“I am glad and rejoice with all of you. So you too should be glad and rejoice with me.”
(Philippians 2:17-18)

That sounds reasonable, Jesus…

until I realize Paul was referring to his coming martyrdom
for sharing his faith.

Paul had made such an impact for You

that Your enemies wanted to kill him for it.

There are many places in this sin-sick world where that can still happen.

If those were my stakes
would I be willing to take that risk for You?

Pray this Lazaroo with growing anticipation:

“He will judge between many peoples and will settle disputes for strong nations far and wide. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore.”
(Micah 4:3)

What a promise, Jesus!

Certain, in the last days to come true.

Oh, not because there’s even a hint now that such a thing can happen

but because when You declare it
it’s as good as done.

Pray this Lazaroo with laser focused intent:

“As for you, see that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you.”
(1 John 2:24)

It doesn’t do much good, Jesus

to hear the great, life-changing truths of Your Word

then fail to remember them

not build every aspect of my life upon them.

You’ve told me to see to it that I don’t let that happen.

That means I’m the one responsible.

If I don’t do it
I have no one to blame but myself.

Pray this Lazaroo…thoughtfully:

“We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.”
(James 3:2)

Of the many ways I can sin, Jesus

it’s most likely to happen
when I open my mouth.

That makes me want to keep my mouth shut.

But the problem with that solution is this:

If I only think it,
it’s still a sin.

No one else may know it
but You do

because You read minds.

Pray this Lazaroo with utter abandon:

“When all the work Solomon had done for the temple of the Lord was finished, he brought in the things his father David had dedicated—the silver and gold and all the furnishings—and he placed them in the treasuries of God’s temple.”
(2 Chronicles 5:1)

Father and son working together, Jesus

to honor You.

Although that’s beautiful

it doesn’t always happen.

But You’re my Father

and I’m Your child.

What do you say let’s work together
to bring glory to Your holy Name!

Pray this Lazaroo with unwavering trust:

“…as soon as the priests who carry the ark of the Lord—the Lord of all the earth—set foot in the Jordan, its waters flowing downstream will be cut off and stand up in a heap. So when the people broke camp to cross the Jordan, the priests carrying the ark of the covenant went ahead of them.”
(Joshua 3:13-14)

It’s that first step of obedience, isn’t it, Jesus!

It’s hard – especially when it’s counterintuitive

politically incorrect.

But if by faith I take that step

amazing things will happen!

Pray this Lazaroo in growing awe:

“He also repaired the wall of the Pool of Siloam…”
(Nehemiah 3:15)

Pretty amazing, Jesus.

There was no way Shallun could have guessed
what would one day happen there.

Five hundred years later, You healed the eyes of a man born blind.

You put mud on his eyes
then sent him to wash in the Pool of Siloam.

When he did, he could see!

It makes me wonder:

What will You do in the future
with my simple acts of obedience today?
