Your Father sent that angel to Joseph, Jesus

to let him know the coast was clear to take You back.

Of course, Your Heavenly Father is also

the one who cleared the coast!

The murderous King Herod

was taken out.

I serve the Almighty God who can not only let me know when it’s safe to move

but do whatever it takes
to clear the path.

What an exercise in futility, Jesus!

Digging a cistern is hard, back-breaking work.

To expend all that time and effort to dig one that can’t hold water?

Crushing.

Is there anything I’m working on right now that You know will turn out to be a broken cistern?

I’d really appreciate a heads up.

Pray this Lazaroo with eyes wide open:

“The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders…”

What a great heads up, Jesus.

Just because something looks like a miracle
doesn’t mean it is.

If I see something so amazing that it fills me with wonder
I need to “wonder”…exactly where it leads.

When I’ve supposedly been given a sign
I’d better make double-dog sure it’s from You.

Pray this Lazaroo in fervency of spirit

“Brace yourselves…”
(Nahum 2:1)

When someone tells me to brace myself

I get a little tense, Jesus.

But when You tell me to brace myself?

LORD God Almighty!
I lock up, can’t function.

Except…

when You warn me to brace myself
You’re fighting for me, not against me!

giving me a heads up
so I can survive.

No amount of bracing myself can save me if You’re delivering the blow

but no weapon forged against me can prevail
if You’re my Defender.
