Pray this Lazaroo with a humble heart:

“Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few. A dream comes when there are many cares, and many words mark the speech of a fool.”
(Ecclesiastes 5:2-3)

I admit it, Jesus.

Looking back over my life, I’m been too quick with my mouth.
Looking back over the last 24 hours may not be any better!

Help me, Holy Spirit

not to utter the speech of a fool.

Pray this Lazaroo with faith in the God who can:

“We have much to say about this, but it is hard to make it clear to you because you no longer try to understand. In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food!”
(Hebrews 5:11-12)

I don’t know why those people didn’t try to understand, Jesus.

But they’re not me.
I long to understand!

I’m begging You: Help me understand!

Pray this Lazaroo from the depths of your soul:

“All the people of my town know that you are a woman of noble character.”
(Ruth 3:11)

Man or woman, Jesus…

do all the people of my town know that about me?

If so, please remind me not to become complacent.
Help me keep living up to my reputation!

If my character is noble but they don’t know

all that matters is that You know.

If my character is not noble, then whether or not they know

You know.

I repent!

Please help me become
everything You’ve created me to be!

Pray this Lazaroo all the way to the marrow of your bones:

“Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to try to please them, not to talk back to them, and not to steal from them, but to show that they can be fully trusted…”
(Titus 2:9-10)

I’m Your slave, Jesus!

I desperately want to show you and others
that I’m trustworthy.

But my problem is that sometimes

I haven’t been.

I need Your help to become everything You’ve created me to be!

Please give me another chance.

Pray this Lazaroo with laser-focused intensity:

“If you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”
(Esther 4:14)

Esther’s cousin Mordecai spoke words that resound through the ages, Jesus!

I dare not shirk my duty to speak up for You!

You have placed me on earth in this place, at this time to fulfill Your purpose.

With Your help, Holy Spirit

I’ll do it!

Pray this Lazaroo with explosive feeling:

“Elisha said to Gehazi, ‘Tuck your cloak into your belt, take my staff in your hand and run. Don’t greet anyone you meet, and if anyone greets you, do not answer. Lay my staff on the boy’s face.’ But the child’s mother said, ‘As surely as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you.’ So he got up and followed her.”
(2 Kings 4:29-30)

This Shunammite woman knew who had it, Jesus…

and who didn’t.

Help me know the same.

Pray this Lazaroo with lavish love:

“I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers, because I hear about your love for all his holy people…”
(Philemon 1:4-5)

I can’t show love to everyone who needs it, Jesus!

So when I see or hear of one of Your saints
showing love to the ones I can’t

my heart is warmed.

I know Yours is, too!

It takes us all of us, doesn’t it?

Only together can we

help lift every burden
dry every tear

share the anguish
of every aching heart.

Pray this Lazaroo with acknowledged need:

“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.”
(Ecclesiastes 4:9-10)

You’re making it very clear, Jesus:

We need each other.

I need other people in my life –

reliable people!

…and they need me.

So much for my solo act.

May I be the help to others

I need from them.

Pray this Lazaroo in no-matter-what trust:

“…the livestock and the plunder from the towns we had captured we carried off for ourselves. From Aroer on the rim of the Arnon Gorge, and from the town in the gorge, even as far as Gilead, not one town was too strong for us. The Lord our God gave us all of them.”
(Deuteronomy 2:35-36)

Thank You for giving us seasons like Jesus!

Please help us remember them

when You lead us through the dark valleys of loss.
