What am I chasing that I shouldn’t be, Jesus?

Help me stop!

I admit it:

Some of my goals may not be Yours.

If You show me which are the wrong ones, I’ll stop –
No matter how near and dear they’ve been to me for how long.

Show me!

But I know You’ve assigned specific tasks You wish to accomplish through me.

Show me!

So I can replace the wrong ones
with the right ones.

What a perfect picture of futility You’ve given me, Jesus.

Show me everywhere in my life I’m doing this.

Help me stop!

Did I say, “my” life?

God help me.

It’s not mine.
It’s Yours.

Forgetting that is what sets me off
on another wind-chasing waste of time.

Chasing after the wind is NOT going after something too big.

In Your power, there’s no such thing.

It’s failing to check with You first.
