Pray this Lazaroo in total awareness:

“King Nebuchadnezzar made an image of gold, sixty cubits high and six cubits wide, and set it up on the plain of Dura in the province of Babylon. He then summoned the satraps, prefects, governors, advisers, treasurers, judges, magistrates and all the other provincial officials to come to the dedication of the image he had set up.”
(Daniel 3:1-2)

King Nebuchadnezzar got a bit full of himself, didn’t he, Jesus?

He thought he had made himself great.

He hadn’t.

As with every one of my accomplishments

it’s all You.

Pray this Lazaroo from the depths of your soul:

“…the king placed Daniel in a high position and lavished many gifts on him. He made him ruler over the entire province of Babylon and placed him in charge of all its wise men…at Daniel’s request the king appointed Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego administrators over the province of Babylon…”
(Daniel 2:48-49)

You’re the one who made the king promote Daniel, Jesus.

Then You laid it on Daniel’s heart
to take his fellow Jews along for the ride.

Take me wherever You desire, LORD!

even if You have to move heaven and earth to do it.

Go on high alert, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“Now, son of man, take a block of clay, put it in front of you and draw the city of Jerusalem on it. Then lay siege to it: Erect siege works against it, build a ramp up to it, set up camps against it and put battering rams around it.”
(Ezekiel 4:1-2 )

You weren’t telling Ezekiel to play toy soldiers, Jesus.

You were creating an object lesson
to warn Your people of what was coming.

What’s my object lesson, Father?

Give me eyes that see!

Pray this Lazaroo with white-hot fervor:

” to…Archippus our fellow soldier…”
(Philemon 1:2)

Paul knew, Jesus:

We’re in a war.

Right against wrong.
Good against evil.
God against Satan.

In a war, you’ve gotta have soldiers

and Paul was so grateful for Archippus!

Like Paul

I’m grateful for every soldier who understands this war
and comes alongside me in the fight.

Most wars are life and death –

small potatoes compared to this one –

which is eternal life and death.

With stakes this high

I need every fellow soldier You provide!

Pray this Lazaroo in deepened understanding:

“…the overseer is to be above reproach…”
(1 Timothy 3:2)

You’ve set the overseer bar awfully high, Jesus

and for good reason.

If the overseer stumbles or falls, it’s a domino effect:

A whole lot of people can get hurt.

That’s why Satan relentlessly and ferociously attacks the overseer –

along with their family, friends and ministries, isn’t it?

To be above reproach
doesn’t mean to be above attack.

During the time You walked this earth

constant attack

is exactly what Satan did to You.

Pull on your work gloves, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling…”
(Philippians 2:12)

I can’t work UP my salvation, Jesus.

I’m saved by my faith in You, not by my works.

But I do have to work OUT my salvation once I’ve received it!

Not casually, but with fear and trembling –

‘cause the stakes are really, really, really high!

Be very careful, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“…horses and their riders will fall…”
(Haggai 2:22)

A rider on a horse may feel safer, Jesus, almost invincible.

The horse raises them up high off the ground
making them feel above it all.

The horse is faster than soldiers on foot
able to race away from danger.

But it’s an illusion, isn’t it?

A rider on a horse is a bigger target

and the bigger they are
the harder they fall.

Maybe I’d better stay humble

and not get up on my high horse.
