Pray this Lazaroo with catalytic dedication:

“In that day the Branch of the Lord will be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the land will be the pride and glory of the survivors in Israel. Those who are left in Zion, who remain in Jerusalem, will be called holy, all who are recorded among the living in Jerusalem.”
(Isaiah 4:2-3)

You’re the Branch, Jesus –

the promised Messiah!

You came, You taught, You worked miracles

then gave Your life on the cross
that all who trust You will have eternal life!

Pray this Lazaroo in deepest respect:

“Of the priests:…Azariah son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, the official in charge of the house of God…”
(1 Chronicles 9:10-11)

What a high and holy calling, Jesus!

Of course, we can meet with You anywhere
because You’re everywhere!

But those places You have set apart for regular worship

have become sacred – to You and to us.

May I always do my part

to lovingly care for our place of worship.

Fully open your heart, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“She said to her husband, ‘I know that this man who often comes our way is a holy man of God. Let’s make a small room on the roof and put in it a bed and a table, a chair and a lamp for him. Then he can stay there whenever he comes to us.’”
(2 Kings 4:9-10)

When I take care of those You have called into Your service, Jesus

You see.
You approve.

And oh, my LORD!

You bless.

In faith and trust, deal with it – as you pray this Lazaroo:

“To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.”
(Revelation 3:7)

We don’t respond very well to that initially, Jesus.

We like to appeal decisions we don’t like.
We like to feel we have some measure of control.

But we don’t.

You do hear every prayer I pray according to Your will!

But when I ask for something not best
may I truly be grateful

that Your answer is no.

Pray this Lazaroo with over-the-top trust:

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”
(1 Peter 2:10)

You blessed Your people, Jesus!

But You didn’t bless them
just to be blessing them.

You blessed them
to be a blessing.

May I never forget:

Every blessing I receive from You
creates an opportunity to be Your blessing
to somebody else!

Pray this Lazaroo in sober reflection:

“Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.”
(James 3:1)

There’s a simple reason for this, isn’t there, Jesus?

Those to whom You give the holy honor of teaching Your Word

owe You and those they teach

the privilege of seeing someone
who practices what they teach.

True, no teacher will ever do everything perfectly

but that had blessed well be their daily goal.

Pray this Lazaroo with laser-focused intensity:

“Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money.”
(1 Timothy 3:2-3)

Those are a lot of requirements, Jesus.

No wonder some people see them
and back away from pursuing this holy office.

But these are the bare minimums!

Isn’t this the holy life to which You’ve called
absolutely every one of us?

Pray this Lazaroo with desperate desire:

“…he blew a trumpet in the hill country of Ephraim, and the Israelites went down with him from the hills, with him leading them. ‘Follow me,’ he ordered, ‘for the Lord has given Moab, your enemy, into your hands.’ So they followed him down and took possession of the fords of the Jordan that led to Moab…”
(Judges 3:27-28)

Ehud told the truth, Jesus.

There are others who want us to follow them, however, who are lying.

You haven’t sent them..

Give us holy discernment to tell the difference!

Pray this Lazaroo in heart pounding love:

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood…”
(1 Peter 2:9)

It’s awesome to hear this, Jesus!

But it’s also hard to hear.

I don’t feel worthy.
Why would You choose the likes of me?

I don’t feel like royalty.
When I look in the mirror, I see a commoner.

Who am I to function as a priest?
I’ve got my hands full with my sinning self.

But praise Your holy Name!

I don’t have to feel it
for it to be 100% true.

Pray this Lazaroo with utter abandon:

“When all the work Solomon had done for the temple of the Lord was finished, he brought in the things his father David had dedicated—the silver and gold and all the furnishings—and he placed them in the treasuries of God’s temple.”
(2 Chronicles 5:1)

Father and son working together, Jesus

to honor You.

Although that’s beautiful

it doesn’t always happen.

But You’re my Father

and I’m Your child.

What do you say let’s work together
to bring glory to Your holy Name!
