Seek true perspective, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“After he has honored me…”
(Zechariah 2:8)

That’s what comes first, isn’t it, Jesus?

Or at least it should.

First I honor You

then You honor me.

You’re first.

I’m last.

You’re the head.

I’m the tail.

You’re the top.

I’m the bottom.

But all too often I get it backwards.

I wait to thank and praise You
until I notice You’ve done something I like

shamefully overlooking the countless blessings with which You shower me

every single day.

Pray this Lazaroo with burning emotion:

“Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.”
(Philippians 1:27)

Sounds good, Jesus.

Easier said than done.

The problem is that when I contemplate the “whatever”

I seldom anticipate the “whatever” Satan has planned.

When it hits

I’m suddenly confronted with how painful the “whatever” can be.

I’m tempted to lash out, give in to despair…until I remember:

You’ve got my back.

Only then can I take the high road that honors You.
