Sober up, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“May God deal with me…”
(1 Kings 2:23)

Oh, Jesus.

We human beings don’t pay nearly enough attention to our words, do we?

King Solomon was about to pronounce the death sentence upon his brother.

In fact, he was so angry at his brother at that moment
that he declared his intent with an oath.

But before I follow Solomon’s example, it might be good for me to remember:

If I ask You to deal with me

You will.

Get flexible, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“…after all, he is my older brother…”
(1 Kings 2:22)

There is a pecking order, isn’t there, Jesus?

Horses have it.
So do cats and dogs.

Human beings do, too.

Although David appointed Solomon to be his successor

Solomon’s older brother had other ideas –
with tradition on his side.

But You’ve never been bound by tradition, have You, Father?

Is there any area in my life I might be taking for granted
that You intend to turn totally upside-down?
