There aren’t millions of Gods, Jesus.

There aren’t two Gods or three Gods.

There’s just One:

You.

You and the Father Are One.

Anyone who has seen You has seen the Father.

You live within me

in the Person of the Holy Spirit.

God created the heavens and the earth.

Everything that exists was made by You.

I have the Father

because I have You!

Everyone? Fully mature in You, Jesus?

Now, that would be an all-time miracle!
Especially for the likes of me.

But that’s exactly the miracle for which I pray –

not only for all my brothers and sisters in You
but also for me –

the least deserving
lowliest follower
of them all.

Everybody else was shouting with excitement and praise, Jesus.

Why not the older ones, too?

Because it reminded them of what they had lost.

Theirs were tears of remembrance –

the good times they had experienced
having no temple all this time.

I too have wept over what I’ve lost…

but believe I’ll weep again – in grateful joy.

Because of the cross, Jesus

I believe You paid for the sins of my past.
I’m looking forward to living with You in heaven.

But that phrase, “died with him” gives me pause.

“With” You.

Wow.

You mean…right there?

It sounds like You want me to envision

hanging on the cross with You
until, as death to sin engulfs me I cry:

“It is finished!”

When some people hear the gospel, Jesus –

they reject it.

But I didn’t!

When I heard that amazing good news

I knew it was true
and I believed!

because You called me.

Pretty scary, Jesus.

When the sound of my approaching enemies shakes the earth

it makes me want to run –

until I remember:

You Are my Stronghold!

My enemies can shake the earth a little

but You can shake it a lot.

When by faith I stubbornly refuse to tremble before my attackers

You see and approve.

You know I’m overruling my natural instincts
because I believe You Are Greater!

I know that’s true, Jesus.

But I also know I’m not tapping into its full force.

You promised I’d be able to do even greater things

than You did on earth.

I believe You!

But I have yet to see it.

Why?

my lack of faith.
