Pray this Lazaroo in humble recognition:

“This is what they will get in return for their pride, for insulting and mocking the people of the LORD Almighty. The LORDwill be awesome to them when he destroys all the gods of the earth. Distant nations will bow down to him, all of them in their own lands.”
(Zephaniah 2:10-11)

May You never be awesome to me for that reason, Jesus!

But I will rejoice with You
when You destroy all the gods of the earth.

including the idols
I battle in my own life.

Pray this Lazaroo from the depths of your heart:

“Then you will know that I am in Israel, that I am the LORD your God, and that there is no other…”
(Joel 2:27)

The heathen world worships gods of their own invention Jesus

creating idols

supposing there must be
gods of the sun, moon, sea,
plants and animals

not understanding that You created them all.
You’re the God of all.

Please help me not think, talk or act like a heathen

while pointing the lost to You.

Pray this Lazaroo with undying love:

“I gave faithless Israel her certificate of divorce and sent her away because of all her adulteries. Yet I saw that her unfaithful sister Judah had no fear; she also went out and committed adultery. Because Israel’s immorality mattered so little to her, she defiled the land and committed adultery with stone and wood.”
(Jeremiah 3:8-9)

Spiritual adultery, Jesus –

Your people worshiping idols instead of You

betraying the covenant You made with them
as an adulterous violates her marriage vows.

May I never put anyone or anything ahead of You!

Pray this Lazaroo in the holy fear of God:

“Ephraim is joined to idols; leave him alone! Even when their drinks are gone, they continue their prostitution; their rulers dearly love shameful ways. A whirlwind will sweep them away, and their sacrifices will bring them shame.”
(Hosea 4:17-19)

After repeated willful sin

there comes a point of no return, doesn’t there, Jesus?

when a person – even an entire nation –
are joined to their idols in unholy matrimony

till death and destruction come
and they perish together.

Pray this Lazaroo with burning zeal:

“You who preach against stealing, do you steal? You who say that people should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? You who boast in the law, do you dishonor God by breaking the law? As it is written: ‘God’s name is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.’”
(Romans 2:21-24)

O Holy Spirit!

Is there anything I’m doing – or not doing –

that causes unbelievers to think less of You?

If so, I beg You to show me!

In Your Holy Name, dear Jesus!

Amen!

Pray this Lazaroo in worship to our one and only God!

“They say to wood, ‘You are my father,’ and to stone, ‘You gave me birth.’ They have turned their backs to me and not their faces; yet when they are in trouble, they say, ‘Come and save us!’”
(Jeremiah 2:27)

How the idol worship of Your very own people had to hurt You, Jesus!

Sadly, it continues today in my country
and worldwide.

Our idols are different from theirs but just as much a stench in Your nostrils.

Revival, LORD!

Please.

Send a revival.

Sell out totally to God as you pray this Lazaroo:

“Nevertheless, I have a few things against you: There are some among you who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to entice the Israelites to sin so that they ate food sacrificed to idols and committed sexual immorality.”
(Revelation 2:14)

You know who did what to whom, don’t You, Jesus?

Yes, the person who finally committed the sin is guilty.
But You hold responsible those who enticed them!

People look on the outside.
You see into my heart.

Pray this Lazaroo with unrestrained allegiance:

“In that day people will throw away to the moles and bats their idols of silver and idols of gold, which they made to worship.”
(Isaiah 2:20)

There is coming a day, Jesus…

when everyone who trusts anyone or anything other than You
will discover what fools they’ve been!

Am I trusting anything or anyone but You?

If so, I beg You to show me!

I’d rather throw it to the moles and bats now

than wait till then.

Pray this Lazaroo with sold-out surrender:

“Judah has desecrated the sanctuary the LORD Loves by marrying the daughter of a foreign god.”
(Malachi 2:11)

What a heartbreak, Jesus!

Jewish men were divorcing their Jewish wives
and marrying idol-worshiping foreign women

in order to gain economic advantage in their trade with other countries.

How could they do such a thing?
These men worshiped an idol of their own, didn’t they?

Money.

May I never – ever! – compromise my walk with You

in order to line my pockets.

Pray this Lazaroo with burning zeal:

“…the LORD alone will be exalted in that day, and the idols will totally disappear.”
(Isaiah 2:17)

Oh, how I long for that day, Jesus!

when I finally rid myself of the idols
that continue to lurk inside my heart.

I’m repulsed by the graven images I see all around the world.

But the ugliest and most detestable false gods of all

are those things in my life that to this very day
I catch myself putting ahead of You.
