Pray this Lazaroo with pedal-to-the-metal commitment:

“…show that they can be fully trusted, so that in every way they will make the teaching about God our Savior attractive.”
(Titus 2:10)

That’s extra incentive to live the way you had in mind

when You gave Your life for me on the cross, Jesus!

Not only to please You

but also to inspire others to believe in You
and give their lives to You.

So now the question:

Am I living in every way to make the teaching about You attractive?

If not, please show me!
So I can correct it.
Now.

Pray this Lazaroo with pedal-to-the-metal commitment:

“…encourage the young men to be self-controlled.”
(Titus 2:6)

Of course, all of us need to be self-controlled, Jesus

not just young men

but also young women, older women, older men.

Perhaps that’s because it’s harder for a young man to learn…

not to mention so very important.

I love the word, “encourage,” though!

Not simply a gruff command

but using words that explain
offer helpful examples
give incentive
inspire hope

letting these young men know:

They can do this!

…and so can I.

What a change of purpose, Jesus!

From an instrument intended to strike fear and bring death
to a tool that helps trees produce fruit that sustains life.

Do that with me, Father!

Take all my negative traits
sins, shortcomings
gaffes, blunders, goofs, failures

and transform them into skills, experiences and a heart of compassion

that equips and inspires men, women and children to know You

the only Giver of Life.
