Those are Your precious words to me, Jesus!

It’s not how strong I am.
It’s not how smart I am.
It’s not how much money I have.
It’s not how well-connected I am.
It’s not the sophistication of my tools.
It’s not how many degrees I’ve earned..

It’s You!

When great things happen to me, Jesus

do I realize You’re the one I should thank?

True, You work through events, weather, people – even animals!

So it’s easy to forget that my blessings come through them

not from them.

Certainly, when people deliberately choose to be good to me

You bless them richly.

But with a grateful heart may I never forget:

It’s You.

You kinda like it when those two go together, don’t You, Jesus?

The praise because of Who You Are
The thanksgiving because of what You’ve done

and continue to do…and do…and do.

But to do either I have to pay attention, don’t I?

I’ve got to dismiss the idea of chance, luck, circumstance.
I’ve got to recognize that it is You! All You!

If I can’t do that

I still don’t know You.
