Pray this Lazaroo with bottomless trust:

“They stumble because they disobey the message—which is also what they were destined for. But you are a chosen people…”
(1 Peter 2:8-9)

I hardly know what to do with this, Jesus.

To think that some people are destined to reject You
seems so unfair.

But to think that You chose and destined me to accept You?
That’s awesome!

Bottom line?

I trust You!
Your ways are far superior to mine.

And I am beyond grateful

to be included in Your wholly undeserved, unfathomable love!

I’m holding firmly to my original conviction about You, Jesus

because You’re holding firmly to me.

I do not share in You because I’m holding on.

I hold on because – by grace alone –

You’ve chosen me.

Pray this Lazaroo in deepest gratitude:

“Finding Philip, he said to him, ‘Follow me.’”
(John 1:43)

You deliberately left Galilee to find Phillip, Jesus

just like You deliberately chose, called and saved me.

There was nothing in my sinful human nature that would have chosen You

until You chose me.

Only then did I begin to grasp that You love me so much

that You went to the cross to pay for my sins

then rose from the dead

so we could be together

forever.
