“For this reason he had to be made like his brothers in every way, in order that he might become a merciful…high priest…”
(Hebrews 2:17)

You get it, Jesus.

Better than that:
You get me.

You know why I struggle, stumble, fall.

You didn’t –

but only because You were also God!

I’m not.
So from time to time I blow it.

If You were distant, aloof

that would be a problem.

But You came

and walked in my shoes.

I’m so thankful to be one of those children God has given You, Jesus!

but I suspect on some days
I’m a lot happier about that than You are.

After all, You have to deal with my…issues.

Yes, You love me – with a fierce strength I cannot begin to comprehend.

But the bottom line is:

I get You…
and You get me.

Wow.
