Pray this Lazaroo with thanksgiving:

“They agreed that we should go to the Gentiles, and they to the Jews.”
(Galatians 2:9)

How many times have I looked at the assignment You’ve given someone, Jesus

and thought, “I wish You had sent me there!”?

But how often have I looked at where You’ve sent someone else

and thought, “I’m so very glad that’s not me!”?

May I never second-guess Your calling, LORD!

You alone

know what You’ve put me on this earth to do.

Pray this Lazaroo in devoted passion:

“…you will have no one in the assembly of the LORD to divide the land by lot.”
(Micah 2:5)

This was disastrous, Jesus.

Unless one of Your anointed priests was available
casting the lot was nothing more than a roll of the dice.

Your anointing matters –

not just on Jewish priests
but on Your people

including me.

You’ve anointed all who know Your truth and have placed their trust in You alone.

To not have that anointing
is disastrous.

Pray this Lazaroo in boundless gratitude:

“You only have I chosen of all the families of the earth…”
(Amos 3:2)

What an honor for the descendants of Abraham, Father!

You passed over nations much more numerous
far more powerful
more famous.

Why?

Because You knew Abraham would do what You told him to do
and pass it on to those after him.

Jesus, thank You for what you did on the cross

to make me – as unworthy as I am –
a member of this amazing family!

(Exodus 3:12)

You love to do this, don’t You, Jesus?

to turn a place of humiliating defeat
into a site of glorious triumph!

You met Moses at Mount Horeb where he was tending someone else’s sheep

informed him that he would return to this mountain

with three million people in tow
to hear Your voice and receive Your law.

O Father!

What will You do here one day

in this place
through me?
