Pray this Lazaroo with a yearning soul:

“At that time I will carry out against Eli everything I spoke against his family—from beginning to end. For I told him that I would judge his family forever because of the sin he knew about; his sons blasphemed God, and he failed to restrain them.”
(1 Samuel 3:12-13)

I, too, have failed to restrain some of the people in my life, Jesus.

Of course, You haven’t given me full control over someone else.

But You have given me a measure of influence.

Pray this Lazaroo with laser-focused intensity:

“…knowing good and evil.”
(Genesis 3:5)

It’s one thing to know what’s good and what’s evil, Jesus

quite another to do one
and refuse the other.

Sure, there are some sins I might accidentally commit

some good deeds I inadvertently overlook.

But how can I claim ignorance as my excuse for any of those

when I refuse to obey even one of Your clear commands

or deliberately engage in an activity

that I know full well You have expressly forbidden?
