Root and establish me – and all your people – in love.

Grant us Your power to grasp just how much You love us

so that, filled with Your love
we will be unable to rest

until we have shared Your love
with as many as possible.

When things were going well for me, Jesus, I loved it.

I thought it was always going to be that way.

Then I discovered:

It wasn’t.

My sins caused some of it – maybe all of it.

But it might have simply been
that You needed me to fight some of Your battles.

If my suffering is caused by sin, I’ve got to repent!

Either way, I long to live once more

under the spout
where Your glory comes out!

will Your next adventure for me be revealed.

May everyone who watches my life be able to see that

I long to be a true blessing to others
I do not turn from Your Word to the right or to the left.

I hate being deceived, Jesus!

I long to take people at their word.

It’s so much work to study their body language
and facial giveaways.

I fervently wish I lived in a “what-you-see-is-what-you-get” world.

But I don’t.

So that means I have to be a good evaluator, doesn’t it?

Except…some people are really good deceivers.

Looks like I need to tap into one of Your priceless treasures –

the supernatural gift of discernment.
