Pray this Lazaroo from the depths of your soul:

“‘How gladly would I treat you like my children and give you a pleasant land, the most beautiful inheritance of any nation. I thought you would call me “Father” and not turn away from following me. But like a woman unfaithful to her husband, so you, Israel, have been unfaithful to me,’ declares the Lord.”
(Jeremiah 3:19-20)

I have no intention of turning away from You, Jesus!

Not ever.

It is my desire to remain faithful to You

every moment
of every hour
of every day

until You call me home to be with You!

Pray this Lazaroo all the way to the marrow of your bones:

“…pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil people, for not everyone has faith. But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you…”
(2 Thessalonians 3:2-3)

I need some of that strength, Jesus.

Right now.

Did I say, “some” of that strength?

Make that “a lot” of Your strength!

There are times when Satan’s attacks are relentless

day after day after day.

Without You, I’d never make it.

With You – in Your Strength –

I know I will!

Pray this Lazaroo with a full heart:

“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”
(Colossians 2:6-7)

What a great state to be in, Jesus –

“overflowing with thankfulness!”

When I think of all You’ve done for me –

starting with the love You showed
when You paid for my sins on the cross –

I have every reason to let my thanks overflow!

Pray this Lazaroo with keen anticipation:

“When Elisha reached the house, there was the boy lying dead on his couch. He went in, shut the door on the two of them and prayed to the Lord…As he stretched himself out on him, the boy’s body grew warm…The boy sneezed seven times and opened his eyes.”
(2 Kings 4:32-35)

You don’t usually raise the dead, Jesus.

Until it’s time for us to die You protect us.

But every once in a while You do the impossible!

to remind us You can.

Pray this Lazaroo with humbled caution:

“Do you not realize that a commander and a great man has fallen in Israel this day? And today, though I am the anointed king, I am weak, and these sons of Zeruiah are too strong for me. May the Lord repay the evildoer according to his evil deeds!”
(2 Samuel 3:38-39)

Even a king has limitations, Jesus.

His top general was a huge help…

but also a murderer –

too strong for David to remove.

Sometimes You saddle me with a problem person

because I need the good they also do!

Pray this Lazaroo with deep reverence:

“Say to Aaron and his sons:…‘The sin offering is to be slaughtered before the Lord in the place the burnt offering is slaughtered; it is most holy. The priest who offers it shall eat it; it is to be eaten in the sanctuary area, in the courtyard of the tent of meeting.”
(Leviticus 6:25-26)

You told them what to do

where to do it

and how to do it, Jesus.

Do that for me!

Well…actually, You’ve already done that in Your Word.

Maybe I should obey those
before begging for more direction.

Pray this Lazaroo with unshakable belief:

“Cain said to the Lord, ‘My punishment is more than I can bear. Today you are driving me from the land, and I will be hidden from your presence; I will be a restless wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me.’ But the Lord said to him, ‘Not so; anyone who kills Cain will suffer vengeance seven times over.’”
(Genesis 4:13-15)

You are stunningly good to the worst of us, Jesus!

…which explains why You are so good to me.

Pray this Lazaroo in trembling awareness:

“The Lord Almighty declares, ‘I will send it out, and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of anyone who swears falsely by my name. It will remain in that house and destroy it completely, both its timbers and its stones.’”
(Zechariah 5:4)

Pretty scary, Jesus.

So…what are You going to send out?

That flying scroll that carries a curse.

Is that flying scroll hovering above the earth right now?

…above my country…my family…

…above me?

If so, only this will prevent it from entering:

Repentance and Obedience.
