Pray this Lazaroo in trembling awareness:

“The Lord Almighty declares, ‘I will send it out, and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of anyone who swears falsely by my name. It will remain in that house and destroy it completely, both its timbers and its stones.’”
(Zechariah 5:4)

Pretty scary, Jesus.

So…what are You going to send out?

That flying scroll that carries a curse.

Is that flying scroll hovering above the earth right now?

…above my country…my family…

…above me?

If so, only this will prevent it from entering:

Repentance and Obedience.

Give careful thought to your ways, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“Now this is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘Give careful thought to your ways.’”
(Haggai 1:5)

Well, if You say it, Jesus

I’d better do it.

That’s true of everything You say.

In fact, that’s the key to giving careful thought to my ways.

What have You told me to do that I’m not doing?
What have You told me to stop that I’m still doing?

Very humbling…

…this giving careful thought to my ways.

Pray this Lazaroo with excuseless repentance:

“This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘These people say, “The time has not yet come to rebuild the Lord’s house.”’ Then the word of the Lord came through the prophet Haggai: ‘Is it a time for you yourselves to be living in your paneled houses, while this house remains a ruin?’”
(Haggai 1:2-4)

There’s a time for everything, Jesus.

But when I claim it’s not the time to serve You
because I’m too busy serving myself?

You see through me –
straight to my selfish, me-centered heart.

Pray this Lazaroo in humble recognition:

“This is what they will get in return for their pride, for insulting and mocking the people of the LORD Almighty. The LORDwill be awesome to them when he destroys all the gods of the earth. Distant nations will bow down to him, all of them in their own lands.”
(Zephaniah 2:10-11)

May You never be awesome to me for that reason, Jesus!

But I will rejoice with You
when You destroy all the gods of the earth.

including the idols
I battle in my own life.

Pray this Lazaroo with unshakable belief:

“I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come,” says the Lord Almighty.”
(Malachi 3:1)

All those years, decades, centuries and millennia of waiting, Jesus

and then suddenly!
it happened.

May I never become impatient with Your timing.

I know.

Easier prayer to pray
than in faith to obey.

But this I also know:

You always do what’s best.

Get your, “Yes Sir!” ready, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘These people say, “The time has not yet come to rebuild the Lord’s house.”’ Then the word of the Lord came through the prophet Haggai…”
(Haggai 1:2-3)

You hear our complaints, Jesus.

They grate on Your ears.

When we insist we don’t have time

to take care of the things that matter to You

we’re about to learn the hard way:

We should have kept our mouths shut.

You’ll appoint someone
to deliver the news.

Pray this Lazaroo with excuseless humility:

“The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this temple; his hands will also complete it. Then you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you. Who dares despise the day of small things, since the seven eyes of the Lord that range throughout the earth will rejoice when they see the chosen capstone in the hand of Zerubbabel?”
(Zechariah 4:9-10)

Open my eyes, Jesus!

When You do it
I don’t want to miss it!

Pray this Lazaroo in trusting confidence:

“This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘These people say, “The time has not yet come to rebuild the Lord’s house.”’”
(Haggai 1:2)

That doesn’t sound like discernment, Jesus.

It sounds like laziness.

May I never put off doing Your will because it requires a lot of work!

And by the same token:

May I never put off doing Your will
because I realize my very best work won’t be enough!

May I always trust that Your All-Powerful Hand

will be able to accomplish what I cannot!

Pray this Lazaroo in passionate gratitude:

“‘Therefore, as surely as I live,’ declares the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, ‘surely Moab will become like Sodom, the Ammonites like Gomorrah—a place of weeds and salt pits, a wasteland forever. The remnant of my people will plunder them; the survivors of my nation will inherit their land.’”
(Zephaniah 2:9)

When only a remnant of survivors is left, Jesus

common sense says they’re probably finished.

But You supersede common sense!

You achieve the impossible through Your holy people!

Hold nothing back, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“Everyone will sit under their own vine and under their own fig tree, and no one will make them afraid, for the Lord Almighty has spoken. All the nations may walk in the name of their gods, but we will walk in the name of the Lord our God for ever and ever.”
(Micah 4:4-5)

Hasten the day, Jesus!

I believe You.
I know in my heart this day will come.

So I’ll do my part to bring it about:

I will walk in Your Name, LORD God
for ever and ever!
