Pray this Lazaroo with humility:

“Nehemiah son of Azbuk, ruler of a half-district of Beth Zur, made repairs up to a point opposite the tomb of David, as far as the artificial pool and the House of the Heroes.”
(Nehemiah 3:16)

Here’s another ruler willing to get his hands dirty, Jesus!

Maybe that’s why You lifted him into leadership.

Thank You for every person in high position

who doesn’t think they’re too good
to do whatever needs doing
no matter how menial.

Leaders like that

are easy to follow.

Pray this Lazaroo in sobered assessment:

“Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world…to inherit the kingdom…?”
(James 2:5)

Poor here, Jesus…

rich there.

I’ll take that!

It’s not that the rich can’t go to heaven, is it?

It’s that riches can blind me to how desperately I need You.

So maybe that’s why You haven’t answered some of my prayers.

Perhaps You’re providing me with the necessary incentive
to keep talking to You.

That’s pretty sad, isn’t it?
